I was wondering if anyone out there besides me crave Disney food from time to time? For instance, I often crave a Pop Waffle or a Mickey ice cream bar even a bbq sandwich from Pecos Bill which I so much wish I can have at this time and don't get me started on pizza from Via Napoli.

Yes I crave food from there all the time.

Pizza & Sundaes from the POP foodcourt

a Taco Salad that I've not been able to get in years from El Pirata Y el Perico

Food from the The Plaza and Columbia Harbor House

I dont so much crave the food as much as the ambiance of getting the food. Most of the food I get in Disney is good to average but the actual places you get the food make it for me.

whenever the cravings hit I usually whip up the dish here at home. FYI we have a very long running Disney recipe thread right here and it's stickied to the top of this forum (the Index too so you can find things quickly)

Any requests?

it was craving disney food that led me to finding this website :). i LOVE the macadamia nut crusted chicken with the papaya marmalade, mashed potatoes and sho yu cream sauce from wolfgang pucks. yes i realize it's a dressed version of fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy but ooohhhh soooo yummy! thanks to tigsmom, wannabebelle and tatania on the recipe thread of this site i've enjoyed that meal as well as many other disney meals on more than one occasion.:sohappy:

Besides all the great food at great restaurants, I get hankerins' for Mickey Waffels with the "guitar pick" shaped hash browns, with LOTS of syrup!

I crave the Biscuits and Gravy for breakfast. Normally I don't eat breakfast (even though it's said to be the most important meal of the day) because I don't slow down and take the time, I'm working too hard. So when I'm at Disney I treat myself to breakfast every morning. Once in a while I stop and think to myself, how great it would be to have Biscuits and Gravy this morning... The other thing I stop and crave for is a Turkey Leg. ( I know there's a lot of Turkey Leg haters out there) but I would like one more often than I get them.

I do from time to time miss the food though what I find is that its also the atmosphere that goes with it.
I do have the cook books, plus other recipes that I make, also I find things in my town and grocery stores that I will bring home and have a "Disney" dinner night that in a small way brings me back to the World even if its just for a moment.

I used the recipe for Tonga Toast posted here to to try and make it at home one cold Saturday morning.

I nearly burned my entire building down. I didn't realize the oil in the pan would splatter like that! :lookaroun

I'll leave the Tonga Toast to the pros. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

I constantly find myself wanting Mom's pot roast from 50s Prime Time. The mashed potatoes used to go along with that fantasy, but they changed them last time I was there =(

And, of course, cheddar cheese soup.

At first it's the food...then you realize that being in Disney makes the food taste better.

I'm currently craving some Casey's Corner Corn Dog Nuggets. :slurp:

I've been known to crave Disney food from time to time. Le Cellier steak and Via Napoli pizza are 2 big ones. Trying to make it at home and trying other places just does not cut it. It's the "being in Disney" + great food that makes it = amazing craveable food
