Dana...

You mean "THE WORLD" to me and "I'LL TAKE YOU BACK" whenever you want because you're worth "WAITIN' ON A WOMAN." I don't need any "ALCOHOL" to feel like a "CELEBRITY" when I'm with you because there "AIN'T NOTHING LIKE" getting a little "MUD ON THE TIRES" while singing a "WHISKEY LULLABY."
After all..."THAT'S LOVE" and "YOU NEED A MAN AROUND HERE." I know this has turned into a "LONG SERMON" but I'm "WRAPPED AROUND" "LITTLE MOMENTS" that all revolve around you.

:lookaroun

(I couldn't think of any more  )

Good Directions-Billy Currington

I was sittin' there sellin' turnips on a flatbed truck
Crunchin' or a pork rind when she pulled up
She had to be thinkin' "This is where the rednecks come from"
She had Hollywood written on her license plate
She was lost and lookin' for the interstate
Needin' directions and I was the man for the job

[Chorus]
I told her way up yonder past the caution light
There's a little country store with an old Coke sign
You gotta stop in and ask Miss Bell for some of her sweet tea
Then a left will take you to the interstate
But a right will bring you right back here to me

I was sittin' there thinkin' 'bout her pretty face
Kickin' myself for not catchin' her name
I threw my hat and thought, "You fool, that coulda been love"
I knew my old Ford couldn't run her down
She probably didn't like me anyhow
So I watched her disappear in a cloud of dust.

[Chorus]
I told her way up yonder past the caution light
There's a little country store with an old Coke sign
You gotta stop in and ask Miss Bell for some of her sweet tea
Then a left will take you to the interstate
But a right will bring you right back here to me

Is this Georgia heat playin' tricks on me
Or am I really seein' what I think I see
The woman of my dreams comin' back to me

She went way up yonder past the caution light
Don't know why, but somethin' felt right
When she stopped in and asked Miss Bell for some of her sweet tea
Mama gave her a big 'ol glass and sent her right back here to me

Thank God for good directions:and turnip greens

Wrapped-George Strait

I didn't have to turn my head whenever you walked in
The only one to let these chills roll down my skin
My heart beats faster, I hear your name
I feel my confidence slippin' away

Chorus:
Thought I was doin' fine
'Bout to get you off my mine
I see your face and then I'm
Wrapped around your pretty little finger again

It feels like ages since you laid down in my arms
I see no good reason but still I'm tangled in your charms
My God, you're smilin' and you catch my eye
My heart is pounding deep inside

Repeat Chorus

Ain't gonna let no man go down without a fight
'Cause my stalls and walls look better in the bright day light
My heart beats faster, I call your name
I feel my confidence slippin' away

Repeat Chorus x2

Your pretty little finger
Baby, I'm wrapped around your pretty little finger again
pretty little finger

Wrapped is QUICKLY growing on me as one of my favorite STR8 songs ;)

These are my two favorite Montgomery Gentry songs:

"Something to be Proud Of"

There's a story that my daddy tells religiously,
Like clockwork everytime he see's an opening,
In a conversation,
Bout the way things use to be

I just roll my eyes and make a B-line for the door,
I'd always end up stary eyes and cross legged on the floor,
Hangin onto every word,
man the things I heard

It was harder times and longer days,
Five miles to school uphill both ways,
We were cane switched raised and dirt floor poor,
Course that was back before the war,
Yea your uncle and I made quit a pair,
Flyin F-15's through hostile air,
He went down but they missed me by a hair,
He'd always stop right there and say,

That's something to be proud of,
That's a life you can hang your hat on,
as your chins held high as the tears fall down,
gut sucked in, chest stuck out,
Like a small town flag a flyin,
Or a new born baby cryin,
In the arms of the woman that you love,
That's something to be proud of,

Son graduatin college, that was momma's dream,
And I was on my way to anywhere else when I turned Eighteen,
that's when I got a fast car, and think you got everything,

I learned real quick those GTO's don't run off faith,
I ended up broke down in some town north of L.A.
Working maximum hours, for minimum wage,

I fell in love next thing I know,
Babies came and the car got sold,
Sure do miss that old Hot Rod,
But you sure save gas in them foriegn jobs,
Dad I wonder if I ever let you down,
If you're ashamed how I turned out,
Well he lowered his voice, then he raised his brow,
Said let me tell you right now

That's something to be proud of,
That's a life you can hang your hat on,
No need to make a million just be thankful to be workin,
If you're doin what you're able,
Puttin food there on the table,
And providing for the family that you love,
That's something to be proud of

And before you ever really do is the best you can,
Well you did it man,

That's something to be proud of,
That's a life you can hang your hat on,
as your chins held high as the tears fall down,
gut sucked in, chest stuck out,
Like a small town flag a flyin,
Or a new born baby cryin,
In the arms of the woman that you love,
That's something to be proud of,
That's something to be proud of,
That's something to be proud of,
That's something to be proud of,
Now that's something to be proud of

"LUCKY MAN"

I have days where I hate my job
This little town and the whole world too
Last Sunday when the Bengals lost
Lord it put me in a bad mood

I have moments when I curse the rain
Then complain when the sun's too hot
I look around at what everyone has
And I forget about all I've got

But I know I'm a lucky man
God's given me a pretty fair hand
Got a house and a piece of land
A few dollars in a coffee can
My old trucks still running good
My ticker's ticking like they say it should
I got supper in the oven, a good woman's loving
And one more day to be my little kid's dad
Lord, knows I'm a lucky man

Got some friends who would be here fast
I could call em any time of day
Got a brother who's got my back
Got a mama who I swears a saint
Got a brand new rod and reel
Got a full week off this year
Dad had a close call last spring
It's a miracle he's still here

But I know I'm a lucky man
God's given me a pretty fair hand
Got a house and a piece of land
a few dollars in a coffee can
My old trucks still running good
My ticker's tickin' like they say it should
I got supper in the ove, good woman's loving
And one more day to be my little kid's dad
Lord, knows I'm a lucky man

My old trucks still running good
My ticker's ticking like they say it should
I got supper in the oven, a good woman's loving
And even my bad days ain't that bad
Yeah, I'm a lucky man
I'm a lucky lucky man

Love would be a strong word, but I'm not immune to its charm. Just the other day I heard a delightful song about a young man selling turnips who is approached by a young lady asking for directions back to the interstate. Instead of being direct, he offers her directions to a country store with an old Coca Cola sign and a sweet old lady who makes wonderful sweet tea, before telling her the fork in front of the store leads both to the interstate or back to his turnip stand. Naturally, after questioning himself for not trying to make a move, he finds that a few minutes later she chose the return route over the highway.

You just don't get that kind of narrative detail from Aerosmith or U2. :)

Geez, that is complicated. I lost interest after the Coca-Cola sign. You don't have to put up with such nonsense listening to Motley Crue.

I absolutely cannot stand country music. :hurl:

The only country song I will listen to is Leann Rimes "Remember When" on my Happiest Celebration on Earth CD set.

That genre in general just annoys the crap out of me for some reason. It's all so overdramatic.
I'm with Laura on this one :lookaroun

My sister has gotten into it in recent years, but I can't get into it. I only like the people that went mainstream, like Shania Twain and Faith Hill. I also really like LoneStar's "Amazed." Another mainstream song. Don't ask me about the real country music because um yeah :lookaroun

*goes to listen to my pretty 90s R&B music*

As for me....meh. I like all kinds of music, and again I do like SOME country music. But I mostly laugh at it :lookaroun

To be fair, have you heard Mexican norteño music? It's a mixture of polka and country in Spanish. THAT is laughable :ROFLOL:
