Rumor Country Bear Jamboree to be Replaced by Toy Story Show?

I'm advocating relocation myself. And Toy Story being exclusive to DHS if possible.

I'm firmly in the New Orleans Square/PATF camp.
I think a bayou rethemed TSI with a PATF themed restaurant would be best. Leave Frontierland alone. It’s literally needs the least amount of work out of all the lands in MK...

Diamond Horseshoe is a wash. Work with what's there. That's usually Disney's MO. I'm sure TSI will go the way of the dodo soon enough but until then leave it be. There's plenty of nothingness at the tail end of Fronterland/Liberty Square that could be re-themed to something else and support a new IP.

I am just Toy Storied out! Thank God they did not have the same team running Disney when the parks were originally built or it would have been 4 lands full of Cinderella and the Aristocats.

OT: Apologies in advance for potential thread drift...
Aside from occasionally seeing Marie in France in EPCOT, have they ever really done anything with Aristocats in the parks?

Exactly. And there were THREE legitimate entertainment updates for DHS that were “the plan”. Still waiting for them. Disney routinely gets gun shy. If people are going to get all bent out of shape, I can just stop sharing what I hear. I never understand the view that we shouldn’t take something serious til it’s on DPB. If that is the view, why read a News and Rumors forum on a fan site?
I personally am grateful for the info, even if I don't like the info in question. :)

...then people start asking travel planning questions around when to book to do them

Who is asking travel planning questions, especially ones about when to book their trip? One member, who already has a trip booked, simply asked if she might be able to see the show one last time within the timeframe of her already-booked trip if the show does indeed close. Your hyperbole is so ridiculous.

Did her asking that somehow affect you? Do you think this seasoned member "asking travel planning questions" isn't level-headed enough to know what a rumor is?

The guy gives new TODAY just gave a awesome opening to his TONIGHT show re: CBJ. I know we crap on him, but he should be given credit when due.

I agree. Whether you love or hate Tom, I don't think he's making this rumor up. He's pouring his heart and soul into saving the Country Bears. He wrote a long emotional article about it, created SaveTheJamboree.com, and spoke about it so much on his show last night. I am convinced that we need to save the Country Bears. I doubt he is making it up.

So this may be legit...

Oh, crap, really? Jeez...

I mean, I advocated for something new only because the current incarnation of Bears is so dated. Unlike Tiki Room, because the effects there are still...well, effective. (Especially the thunderstorm. It's still awesome). I really just wanted the show updated with new music etc. I'll really hate to see this go. If it must, I hope my favorite parts of the show - Max, Buff and Melvin - will be relocated to perhaps the Golden Horseshoe and kept active. I remember the trio at the Mile Long Bar, and how fun they were when they "woke up" and greeted people. Please don't let this classic attraction completely go away... :(

Seems like a massive amount of work would be needed for such a conversion. The CB theater isn't really a stage - the space is a mechanized simulacrum of a stage. If there were to be a "Toy Story Stage Show" there would be the need for not only a performance space (an ACTUAL stage) but also back of house spaces for cast, etc. WAY too much work would be needed to convert the CB space for this use, given that there is a fully operational - and grossly underused - performance space just a stone's throw away in the form of the Diamond Horseshoe...

I'm PAGES AND PAGES behind. But this! Didn't they already do something in Diamond though? Why not just put a puppet show in there and call it a day? Or ... you know ... in the land where the toys live? lol

If it's an animatronic show, they could just reskin the animatronics and re-do the show. I make it sound much simpler than it is.

I don't see this happening but maybe I'm a fool?

He’s not.

I apologize for being way too many pages behind but ... Is this an actual plan greenlit or just an idea tossed around? It's a believable rumor but I don't buy they actually follow through. But they've "surprised" me before so who knows? Nothing really surprises me anymore, sadly.

Why would they spend all of this money to convert the theater? Couldn't money be better spent elsewhere? But hey, what do I know? I'm just a tourist ;)

I just wanna know what nitwit would look and say "Toy Story Land has capacity issues, offers little shade, lacks entertainment, and is rushing a lite-expansion . . . lets shove a Woody's Roundup show into Country Bears!"

Then there's the fact that the Country Bear building would be too small to handle the amount of people who would wait in line for a Toy Story show, which means people would be spilling out into the Frontierland walkway . . . not to mention the poor thematic fit . . . it just seems like this would be such a mistake.

Put something like this in Toy Story Land and call it a day. We'll all be better off.

Between WL, FW and the new resort, I think there are enough potential guests to support Hoop--Dee-Doo and some iteration of the CBJ.

I really don't think hoop-dee-doo will have the capacity to handle demand. A second show building could be justified financially. The shooting gallery could also be a good addition to Fort Wilderness.
