Rumor Country Bear Jamboree to be Replaced by Toy Story Show?

OT: Apologies in advance for potential thread drift...
Aside from occasionally seeing Marie in France in EPCOT, have they ever really done anything with Aristocats in the parks?
Well The Aristocats did have their own float at the Happiness Is Here Parade at Tokyo Disneyland but that's about it. Even Bambi doesn't have that much representation at the parks besides Thumper and Miss Bunny showing up occasionally.

Winnie the Pooh and Jungle Book seem to be the only two animated films from the 60s, 70s, and 80s that get significant play in the parks. There are occasional nods to the others, which are primarily related to holidays or merchandise, but not much.

You know what's funny?

Robin Hood characters M&Gs. Cruella de Vil.....

Also...Little Mermaid was 1989. :P

Who is asking travel planning questions, especially ones about when to book their trip? One member, who already has a trip booked, simply asked if she might be able to see the show one last time within the timeframe of her already-booked trip if the show does indeed close. Your hyperbole is so ridiculous.

Did her asking that somehow affect you? Do you think this seasoned member "asking travel planning questions" isn't level-headed enough to know what a rumor is?
Go scan the rumor threads on this or any other of the 4 other boards I have little doubt you belong to...

It’s pretty widespread. Is this rookie school, dude?

Did I say anything here was crazy or egregious? No. But the dumber fish go for that bait on faux rumors all the time.

I exaggerate and I’m never right more than 75% of the time...I admit that and always have. But hyperbole isn’t a sauce I use for my cooking.

You even got the kid lurking/liking your internet Disney muscle snit...come on, now!! Make magic, not war, baby.

I apologize for being way too many pages behind but ... Is this an actual plan greenlit or just an idea tossed around? It's a believable rumor but I don't buy they actually follow through. But they've "surprised" me before so who knows? Nothing really surprises me anymore, sadly.

Why would they spend all of this money to convert the theater? Couldn't money be better spent elsewhere? But hey, what do I know? I'm just a tourist ;)

You know the answer to this...of course.

D23 is in California, thankfully. They didn’t particularly care for CBJ.
There's still a fandom there that loves WDW and between getting rid of an opening day MK attraction and further homogenizing Epcot, they could be in for an unwelcome audience response.

It also sounds like soft bookings at WDW and DL - if that continues after Rise of the Resistance opens, I would absolutely expect more discounts and/or a rollback on some pricing.

You should probably already know that even in today’s Disney not every project needs to go to Chapek level for approval. However this type of development does seem like something he would be involved in.

But again this isn’t just people randomly brainstorming ideas in a room. Things are actively being set in motion and things are happening in the field regarding this project. Obviously the breaks might be applied, but this isn’t just a rumor or spitballing.

I get what you’re saying...this being a rather low price tag thing...

But I can tell you that they made almost no decisions that cost $0.25 in Orlando without being told so from the West Bank and that was 20 years ago.

I doubt that has changed. Wdw managers are tools...no real power or authority. Al weiss was eve embodiment of that. All capex is ultimately above their pay grade.

Now I doubt it’s gotten more “loose” since.

So since your playing the role of the insider on this one: what kinda dollars we talking about??

Martin has mentioned them. He also said it is one of the more poorly attended MK attractions. Is that really a suprise?
If I recall Martin said that surveys show at least half of park attendees attend the attraction and its well received. I may be incorrect.

It was open during Villains After Hours event. May be totally off base but why would Disney keep that attraction open during an event with smaller crowds?

Where you hearing soft bookings? That’s interesting

Maybe to give people a chance to say farewell. Heh. More likely to test actual demand if people have other easy choices.

They did, but DL built 2 theaters instead of one and shoved them in the furthest-back corner of the park. Even then the Bears played for just shy of 30 years. That it lasted that long with so much capacity to have to fill really says something, and there's definitely still bad blood in the DL community over the Country Bears being removed - made worse by the fact that it was replaced by the bear who simply moves more merchandise despite his attraction being lamer than CBJ ever was.

Considering people were in it waiting every time we walked by and considering each of the five times or so we have been to it this trip it was half to 2/3 full each time im thinking this may be another 20k snow job in the making.

2021 looks massive. People delaying for RotR, MAMRR, and Rat. Everyone knows it will be tough to access GE for the first few months. All the new E tickets opening after RotR will help in theory.

I think this is deliberate phasing by the mouse to make things tolerable.

It would be interesting to see percentages of seats for this and Tiki. Saw video of Buzz with literally only two riders visible throughout. I have no doubt ops is looking at these stats.
