Rumor Country Bear Jamboree to be Replaced by Toy Story Show?

It's one of the reasons why I enjoy looking at old WDW footage from the 1970s when the resort was new brand new. Just to see how much fun guests was having and the types of interactions the characters used to do before the days of "Waiting in line".

They still have license to try to do this in Disneyland.

We had Donald Duck play Simon says on the Train station platform and Oswald play hide and go seek in DCA...

But it’s so tough with the ambient crowds. Loss of jntimacy through growth

Everything I post is an opinion unless it is stated as a historical fact.

I was actually explaining my reasoning for a long held opinion on rumor skeptisicm. It’s not that tough. And what a frequent weboard reaction is (which you can deny happens but that is not true - not an opinion)...

It’s for review...or not...acceptance...or disagreement/dismissal.

I wasn’t aware you would have flashed on this...but I could have saved it and wish I would have now.

It’s five o’clock somewhere.
It does seem like you keep saying the same thing over and over again. Many of us (myself included) enjoy speculating on these rumors. Many come to fruition, some do not. The track record here is pretty darn good compared to elsewhere. But as we all know, Disney does change things, drag their feet, second guess themselves, etc... We all know this. I just don't understand why it has to be repeated every single time a new rumor is put out there.

Where you hearing soft bookings? That’s interesting
Disneyland is reporting 1s and 2s on the crowd calendar, we're seeing Disney offer promotions for discounted tickets in both Florida and California and I've heard rumblings (anecdotal, I know) from travel agents that bookings are soft for WDW.

That doesn’t answer the question at all...and indeed wasn’t even about what I asked. Thanks for the input though...

Somebody ask Red Sox the question, please? I’m probably blocked for not supporting every Disney decision absolutely. I’m such a slow learner.
I absolutely do not support every Disney decision. I'm guessing you couldn't care less about articles I've written or stuff I've said on podcasts, but even on here I'm quite critical and hold Disney accountable for their missteps.

Here's one of the few good quality photos I could find of Thumper and Flower together taken sometime in 1979.

Summer numbers for WDW are low, but not unexpected given the SWGE opening date. I haven’t asked about fall but I don’t gather resort bookings are particularly impressive, but the one-ride-at-a-time opening strategy is...unique. If I didn’t go to WDW often, I would wait til SWGE was COMPLETELY open.

I agree that they should have opened the entire land at once, but if the alternative was 4 months of what Universal is going through operationally with Hagrid's that might have been the path of least resistance (did you see what I did there?).

Oh yes. It’s a smart way to avoid serious crowding issues. I don’t gather they are concerned about bookings. It was expected and better than kids getting trampled by 47-year olds charging to hug Rey.

Now that is interesting. I for one have thought that the Star Wars “crush” wasn’t going to be what everyone assumed (the Oracle agreed mostly). But exact reason are hard to lock down as usual. It was kinda compared to carsland of avatar...but I don’t think either really applies.

I know you don’t...i was just messing you. Though I did think you had me blocked. I think it was when we had that spat where you said that having a podcast was some type of validation in life?? Which is damn ironic right now 🤪

I don't believe I have anyone blocked, but I thought about it with Jimmy Thick, Ford Exploder and jt once in a while.

Then I’m sure if everyone knows...no one will ask me to explain my thoughts? That is very relieving in truth.

And people won’t completely make innuendo nonsense “real” within the first 15 posts and start talking timeframes and logistics and d23 announcements...maybe doing the wise thing and let it breathe a little?

These are awesome changes - for sure 😉

I am going to admit to a huge WDW sin. I have never seen Country Bears. It is the only thing I haven’t done. The kids never wanted to, and then once they flew the coop, we spent less time at MK. Always meant to, just never did. (Don’t flame me) Guess, I will put it on must do’s for August. Never saw it going anywhere, I guess, so rode Splash or Big Thunder extra times instead. 😑

Is Rey popular?

That’s a serious question...as there is little evidence of that.
Surely seems popular at DL as a walk around. I know you hate the new movies but Star Wars celebration sold out several ticket options within a couple hours of releasing them today so I guess it’s still popular.

That’s for another thread of course. This is about CBJ.

It’s completely outdated and corny...offensive if you take things too seriously.

But the reality is it’s fun on occasion...and is a “backwards bridge” to the 20th century that is the essence of Disney.
People think they are “moving forward” with their parks overloading them with pixar and marvel...but you can’t. They were built in a certain space and time and will always be seeded there.

Many of the “Disney classic” attractions are horribly out of date. But people are idiots to be offended by them.

Pirates, tiki room, splash mountain, big thunder, the entirety of the world showcase, the entire princess genre....all windows to the past.

Like the bears, there’s a great value in having the ability to touch that.

As a walkaround? Ok...that’s good to hear. I meant in the context of sales/promotions/etc...but I gotcha. But I can’t believe I have to state again that Star Wars con is not the point of Disney’s agenda. They want more money than can be taken from the fish shot in a barrel.
