MK Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

I wonder how much longer the tiki room has until it gets a similar update to this
I wonder what you could even do with Tiki Room to make it more "modern" without just doing the Stitch version Tokyo has. I can't think of anything they would do that could work well. I would say do new traditional Polynesian songs to be a more authentic experience or go the opposite route and lean into Tiki culture more since that's having a resurgence, but the reality is since neither of those use IP they wouldn't do it.

I did a Bluesky Tiki Room show a while back in this thread:
Hypothetically speaking…
-Tiki Tiki Tiki Room (Birds)
-I Lava You (Bird-Mobile)
-Golden Afternoon (Flowers)
-Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride (Tikis)
-We Know the Way (Finale)
-Heigh Ho (Exit)

As much as I have my fingers crossed they won’t change Tiki Room, I do struggle to find reasons why they would outside of IP infusion. I think they should never have touched Country Bears but I’ll admit that the show did have a few adult jokes that Disney maybe wasn’t too fond of anymore (despite them being what added character and vibrancy to the show). Tiki Room seems very tame to me and I honestly can’t think of any reasons why it could be found offensive.

If anything I can only see it becoming more popular now that American tiki culture is becoming popular again almost like it was in the 1960s. I can’t count how many ads I’ve seen on Instagram for new companies trying to sell wooden tiki statues and tiki mugs. Seemingly out of nowhere over the course of a month too.

I know there’s been discourse about the host voices. Jose especially sounds like a white guy doing a stereotypical Mexican voice. That being said, it could easily be addressed by getting a Latino VA to re-record the lines.

I'm surprised honestly they haven't turned the Tiki room into some type of Moana themed show
The original idea was (going by concept art) to make it a Moana meet and greet.

Which. Lmao. Thank God.

Stitch was proposed for the US but after Under New Management was struck down by an act of god, they don't seem to want to touch the Tiki Room. Why fix something that isn't broke?

Oh, ignore the river/cement pit within 18 months.

Moana overlay talks were shutdown by Disney. Practically told the fandom it wasn't happening. (cause they have other plans) I don't think they ever made such claim about Stitch. And with that live action movie on the horizon... I wonder?! It's not like concepts are ever truly dead at Imagineering. Plus it'd likely be a clone and MK is predisposed to accept those vs completely new content. Then again... Are the GSATs so bad here? They could just as easily be fine leaving it as-is, also typical of TDO. I think Walt's name being attached helps. But only just.

I think Walt’s name saves this attraction for now. Besides, Tiki birds are staples on merch at the point.

Now, if something happens to the other attraction with Walt’s name on it, the one that takes up a massive footprint in a land that’s likely getting an overhaul after Frontierland/Villains is complete, then I’d worry about Tiki

Oh come on. You KNOW what they're saying and you know that its different at a certain point. Why make this useless argument when you know why this is different?
Where is the point that it becomes “different”?

By far the most offensive bird voice at Disney is Iago correct? I’m a fan of the great late Gilbert but he is the very definition of offensive.

I don't think I can post the site here. But if you search "Tiki room Moana concept art" you'll probably find it.
Ouch. Glad they scrapped that, maybe leaks are a good thing since I'm sure the reaction to Tiki Room being replaced had a factor in this being benched. Very odd decision considering that Moana could have a M&G in any park pretty much and Adventureland already has a wide open expansion plot.
