That's a really fun idea! I'm sorry I can't be of any help since I have never done one, but I can see how it could be quite easy and fun.

I generally get calendar grids from creative memories. I use them for monthly calendar pages in my scrapbook. But it would be very easy to use them for a countdown calendar. you could decorate it with fun things to do in the days ahead and put character stickers and such on it. Now I've gotten myself all excited!

I made a super simple one with the metal rings from Staples and about 110 pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 paper. I decorated each page and added some trivia and punched the pages at the top. Each day the girls ripped a sheet off and were one step closer to going. Obviously it was ripped apart so I don't have any pictures. But it was really fun.

I am currently doing one with my daughter. I hope we are talking about the same kind, but mine is done on a styrofoam board. It had disney charcaters on every other square and a countdown number on the blank suqares. we puyt a sticker on it everyday. I have added 10 extra days to mine so I can tell her (10 days before the countdown ends) "let's just go today" that way it can be a suprise also.

Ok you guys and gals, I have been waiting patiently for someone to post pics of a countdown calendar/album and since I see none so far, I am giving this thread a "bump" so maybe someone will remember to post pics.

My trip is 49 days away so I'm depending on you.

I've never made one because we just do a countdown chain and take a link off each day. But I remember seeing a picture of a cute one in one of my scrapbooking books or magazines....I'll see if I can find it and I'll scan it for you.

Did you also post this question in the general forum, or trip planning forum? You might get more responses there since more people view those.

I'll see if I can find that picture for you!

I'm not the original poster, I just happened to be interested in the answer/pics.

We aren't taking the kids this trip so it isn't the end of the world if it doesn't get done. But it is a great idea for our future trips.

I just came across this thread, I never get down this far inthe message boards. I posted about a week ago about a countdown calender. I am in process of creating one, through building and other crafts combined. I plan on plainting and decorating tonight or tomorrow. It will be a 25 day countdown. I have purchased pins, and lanyards to fill some of the dates and my wife will get stuff to fill the rest.

I will post pics once its completed in a day or so.

Thanks for the comments :o:o, but the pictures don't due it justice IMHO. Its my first time doing anything like this, and never doing anything with scrapbooking, I was very impressed with the selection and quality of decals available. They are all either embroidered or are 3 dimensional in really gives depth to the project.

I was mixed with going with a disney theme or princess theme, and started with the princess and just kept going. I have all the stuff for a true disney themed one, just may throw it together because I did have fun making it.

That's adorable, cemeb4dk! I love it! Now, is that sort of a box where you can open up the days and have a treat inside? It looks kind of like a christmas countdown I have with boxes that lift up and hold a treat. If so, what did you put inside each day?

What a neat idea!
