Not enough food places open. Dinning has been **** poor... servers acting like the guests have covid.
Should have just waited. Waste of money. Time. Vacation days from work.
I know some servers are afraid of losing their jobs due to a guest accusing them of not following safety protocol. So it may seem they are being ridiculously cautious when they are just worried a guest might complain. I know there also some that don't feel safe, but medical leave was an option and they could have come back at a later date. Sorry your family and the servers are put in this unacceptable situation

My experience thus far when being here during the pandemic. Waste of 12k.
Everything is half assed. Cast members arw noticeably angry. The lines outside with barriers and mandatory masks is borderline dangerous in this heat. There aren't nearly enough workers to accommodate the crowds. Not enough food places open. Dinning has been **** poor... servers acting like the guests have covid.

Hotel is beautiful tho...

I've been to wdw about a dozen times. This may be my last for a long long time. Half experience. Full price. Six flags feel

WDW is having a hiring blitz desperately trying to hire staff to be employed in quick service locations. Getting less and paying more pre covid or post covid is business 101.

I agree. If you are an employee and your boss tells you to follow safety protocols and the customers are expecting that too it’s really not fair to expect the CM to act differently. We are fast approaching a return to normal and a path out of this pandemic and that’s great, but everyone needs to take a breath, relax and understand that it’s not a light switch that we can flip. Things are changing daily and in a positive way but going out to a place like WDW and being upset that CMs are still following the safety protocols that are left is just a waste of time. If whatever the plan is today isn’t good enough then don’t go. I haven’t been back to WDW since it re-opened and I wouldn’t blame anyone for not wanting to deal with some of the hoops you have had to jump through all along. Many other people have had no problem with it and manage to enjoy themselves.

One question I have is when you say medical leave was an option are you saying that Disney offered any employee who didn’t feel safe the option to continue to get paid but come back later? Or just the option to not get paid now and come back later? If it’s unpaid then it’s not much of an option for most people who need money to pay rent and eat. If they offered a delay of a return to work with pay that’s pretty generous of Disney.

Cruise news -

"Message from Thomas Mazloum, President, Disney Signature Experiences:

I have some great news to share, team.

We received word that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has approved our application to conduct a simulation cruise in advance of resuming normal operations.

This is a critically important milestone for Disney Cruise Line – and I want to thank everyone who has been supporting our return-to-service plans with such dedication and hard work.

We now have the green light to conduct our two-night simulation cruise aboard the Disney Dream from June 29 to July 1, sailing from Port Canaveral. The ship will sail with volunteer passengers and test our newly developed health and safety protocols, which have been meticulously tailored to the current public health environment. All of these protocols are essential to cruising responsibly, and Disney Cruise Line couldn’t be more committed to making vacation dreams come true as it prioritizes the wellbeing of all who step aboard our ships.

Today, as we move closer to restarting our U.S. cruises, I want to spotlight the tremendous resilience and positivity of the team. Your collaboration and continued enthusiasm throughout the pandemic have been nothing short of amazing, as we’ve researched, drafted, revised and refined our comprehensive roadmap for cruising again. It has been no small feat – and I’m extremely proud of everyone.

We will continue to evaluate our health and safety protocols, working closely with the CDC, and make adjustments as we work toward a full resumption of cruising. In the meantime, we can all take pride in the approval of our application with the CDC – a milestone that reflects the incredible talents of our entire team.”

Interesting. Any comment from the Governor’s office?

I believe for an employee to request an employer extended time off ( aka medical leave ) I would think the employee would need a personal doctor's approval to be off for a specified medical reason. I don't think " I don't feel safe " is a valid reason to be away from work unless the employer shows leniency.

just the option to not get paid now and come back later. During first round of callbacks you could decline for unspecific reasons and still get unemployment and still have call back rights. That ended a few months ago.

Through today's report (which I will let @DCBaker post), here are the percentage by age group in FL with at least one shot:

Age% Vaccinated
15-24
30.3%
25-34
34.5%
35-44
46.2%
45-54
53.5%
55-64
68.6%
65-74
89.8%
75-84
87.9%
85+
73.4%
Total
47.6%

My total is lower than the CDC so maybe their data is more up to date than the State report. Either way, the 65+ group continues the slow crawl towards 90% at 87.1% combined. The young whipper snappers continue to lag way behind, especially under 35. Of course, that is also the group that has the highest percentage of natural immunity so there's some help there too.

I don't include the 12-14 group in my percentages because I have no accurate way to estimate the population of 12-14 year old people.

My county in PA started that today as well. It makes sense in the stage we are in given the time and resources needed for daily reporting. 7 day avg number is always better anyway.

Trust me, this has been a thing for a long, long time.
I don't want to derail things or post a silly question most posters here probably know, but... gonna do it anyway.
Besides the obvious low pay (which has always been I assume) and working with the general public (which is always a challenge), what drives the job dissatisfaction?
Corporate steadily stripping away benefits?
Terrible culture to work in?
In other words... why wouldn't a young person or even an old retired guy want to avoid a parks job? Just curious because I know people here have recent or ongoing experience working for Disney.

Moderna joining the full FDA application party.
I guess this means my friend will no longer be able to say she will not get the shot because it is not FDA approved. Or the lawsuit in TX hospital will have to be dropped if this is approved.

I’m not complaining about the whole experience. Just the stupid masks.

Sorry I pointed out something that makes the experience less enjoyable lol.
If you are going to complain and doing it laterally doesn't get you results. Complain upwards and talk to the ones that can help your matter ( ie compensation, etc ). Not always guaranteed but what is there to lose?
