DC does not currently have any mandates outside of transportation (unless at a couple universities)

Just in case anyone is visiting. From a recent email:

Effective May 15, the Kennedy Center will no longer require vaccine verification to attend indoor events and performances; however, masks will still be required for all patrons, regardless of vaccination status, inside all theaters during performances at the Center unless actively eating or drinking.

Performing arts are definitely ones to look for. DC as a whole does not have a mandate outside of transportation - sorry I missed that too along with a few universities. Kid is going in 2 weeks and they struggled for a while on what to do due to requirements.

I think the metro dropped masks for trains and busses when the feds did.

Different side note. If you visit, buy a metro card in the station. Do NOT buy it or add money online. That only works for frequent commuters. Register the card online after, in case you lose it.

Just got back from a 7 day trip to Universal and Disney and had a great time. Me and my wife have been very cautious through the whole pandemic and regularly wore mask in public places until fairly recently. I fully expected that I would not feel comfortable at Disney and would continue to mask, but we didn't put one on for the entire trip except when we had to go to the First Aid in Magic Kingdom since they still required there, although I would assume they could provide one if you didn't have one with you.

At Universal I did not notice any lingering impacts from the pandemic, not just the lack of mitigations, but all their offerings seemed to be back to pre-pandemic state and staffing felt adequate.

Disney on the other hand still has lingering impacts, plexi-glass in a lot of queues, things still not open or back to pre-pandemic state, and there were definitely places that seemed to be under staffed. Despite all that we had a great time and none of that really impacted our enjoyment.

Masking was almost non-existent at both resorts, although I think I noticed more masks on CM's then on guests.
Curious question how did first aid work?
Sign on the door?
I assume it is still located back behind the non existent fountain?

Let me look what I read tonight...
Taxis and ride shares require still. Per articles on the 22nd. Not sure when that will end.

Been ages since I've been on the metro. Used to take it in from Alexandria.

Yes, located back by the fountain and there was a sign on the door.

Have to say this is the first time we needed it and it was a great service. My wife's stomach was bothering her and we would have had to leave to park to get something from a resort gift shop. They gave her some generic Pepto tablets free of charge. Whole thing took less then 5 minutes.

I think it is a third party provider or at least it was 12 years ago. You sign a ledger after service? Just to record how many they had visit, that is how it was when I went to get a band aid.

Aside from Photopass, will CMs still take a picture using your phone if you ask?

Additionally, as an alternative, are you allowed to snap your own selfie with them instead?

You know what's funny?
Texas hospitalizations continue to decline...and confirmed cases aren't seeing a bump (very flat and have been for a while). Interesting so far.

Thanks for the report. I'm so glad it was a good trip. We are still trying to baby step out of our overly cautious mindset. We are debating what to do for our trip. We will have masks on hand. My husband got sick during a trip prior to covid and it stays with me lol. We only lost our last park day but it was stressful. I had to walk back and forth to the food court to get us all food. I'll do anything to avoid that again especially with a much more contagious illness. Covid made the rounds with our friend's family and spared absolutely no one despite being boosted.

Our son also has an orthodontist appointment that will get bumped for months if we miss it.

I'm sweating bullets and trying to plan for unknowns. We have kid size KF94 but we really don't want to use them but everyone seems to agree that cloth masks are pointless. Boogers. Literally.

We took Amtrak to Florida last week. Mask wearing on the train was low, but still higher then we saw in the parks.
