10 pilots is not exactly a large number. I'd suspect it doesn't get anywhere beyond this news article.

We're actually flying to Italy tomorrow (really cheap airline flights - probable from people not wanting the hassle of international travel) and KN95's (or EU equivalent FFP2) are actually required on the plane to Italy.

When we planned the trip, it looked like the Omicron surge would be over, unfortunately BA.2 is still on the way up.

True! Will forever regret my name now. Maybe as a joke I should add something to my signature!

Even if the CDC or government doesn’t recommend it?

I always thought it was "Helen, a bear." I was impressed that a bear could not only understand any human language, but read it and - most impressively - type with its paws. Now the illusion is shattered.

Nope and hate the idea I'm a bear. Bear was a cat's name actually and I curled up like her when I slept. Hence the bear. But not a bear bear. Confused yet? 🤣

eta: Helena is an actual name of mine though (not first though). Pronounced different than Helen which I actually hate the sound of 🙃

The CDC and government can be wrong. I disagree with the current policy as it's based more on politics than science.

for those looking to legally test the policy it does not matter as they have bigger fish to fry by seeking 'stare decisis'

future policy change is paramount to the complainants
Not how it works, generally.

You know what's funny?
Still standing by the opinion that BA.1 blasted us so hard here in the US that BA.2 will really struggle to find a strong hold due to our built up protection. If something is going to be the big next thing here, it won't be BA.2...

I could be wrong, of course.

I would like to think that's true, but BA.1 blasted through the UK as well, and yet they are surging.

We can agree to disagree. I do not see the need to mask when cases are low. Science said as much before too.

The UK path through omicron has been very different, with a different set of circumstances...
Absolutely! I see Denmark and S Africa as mroe similar so far. Not all of europe did it the same and not sure why.

It does seem like we are following the looooong tail trajectory instead of another spike. BA.2 is likely the dominant strain by now in the northeast and we are seeing a very small increase in cases here. Nothing like we saw in December.
