Having one of those days when i feel utterly down by the whole situation.

Covid is not going to go away anytime soon is it ?
While it will never “go away” (just like all other coronaviruses on the planet) it will be mitigated and become something we live with.

Is COVID-19 will keep getting worse every year?

We can live with anything - you literally have no choice. But it's the way of life has changed that really depresses me - can't travel (Europe is still banned from America), horrific rates still being recorded, the fear and anxiety of going places, etc it's just no normality.

Your link is also behind a regional wall, can't be read in Europe

Highly unlikely. Especially as more people get vaccinated and therapeutics become more accessible and easy to administer. Don’t forget that the flu strain that caused the 1918 flu outbreak still circulates today but we are much better conditioned to handle it.

We were saying this spring that the end was in sight. But here we are approaching the fall and it's still here - the virus got worst, much worst with the new variant.

I find it interesting that several weeks ago I predicted the peak in FL would be 8/21 +/- a few days using an excel spreadsheet and 5 minutes of analysis and now real scientists have basically reached the same conclusion using advanced computer simulation.

I didn't go as far as projecting a herd immunity date because I don't have the data to estimate how many of the unvaccinated have actually been infected. I hope they are correct about the herd immunity part.

Scientists in the UK are saying there is no such thing as Herd immunity.

There's ignorance than can be innocent from simple lack of knowledge. And then there's almost malignantly willful ignorance. I think this is an example of the latter:

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with these people?

There was a poster in this thread several days ago saying that she had covid and an anti parasitic drug was one of the things her doctor told her to take.

This helps thin out the herd. If people are stupid enough to take a drug from livestock stores then more power to the idiots.
