The irony is that places like Walt Disney World can't afford to close again for multiple reasons, no matter how bad it gets. But if it get bad enough where a vaccine resistant strain of COVID emerges, places like Walt Disney World will be in legitimate danger of closing permanently.
They could afford to close…

…but they are not in any more danger of closing permanently than a lot of places.

cruiselines are in way bigger trouble

If people think my word is worth anything - even if it’s “shaming” - I guarantee you, the people aren’t paying attention to a thing I’m saying. And never have. If only I could shame someone on here into not traveling to WDW right now. Never going to happen. Maybe if I got enough signatures, I’d run for town council.

Shaming. Please. Let’s talk about how many New Yorkers were shamed here before the thing even made it (substantially) to the rest of the country. I can remember. Can you?
You want my honest thoughts? I think it's time you step back and breathe. Your anger towards posters who you deem
reckless is unfounded.

If you’ve been fully vaccinated:

  • You can resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic.
  • To reduce the risk of being infected with the Delta variant and possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.
  • You might choose to wear a mask regardless of the level of transmission if you have a weakened immune system or if, because of your age or an underlying medical condition, you are at increased risk for severe disease, or if a member of your household has a weakened immune system, is at increased risk for severe disease, or is unvaccinated.
  • If you travel in the United States, you do not need to get tested before or after travel or self-quarantine after travel.
  • You need to pay close attention to the situation at your international destinationbefore traveling outside the United States.
    • You do NOT need to get tested before leaving the United States unless your destination requires it.
    • You still need to show a negative test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before boarding an international flight to the United States.
    • You should still get tested 3-5 days after international travel.
    • You do NOT need to self-quarantine after arriving in the United States.
  • If you’ve had close contact with someone who has COVID-19, you should get tested 3-5 days after your exposure, even if you don’t have symptoms. You should also wear a mask indoors in public for 14 days following exposure or until your test result is negative. You should isolate for 10 days if your test result is positive.
For now, if you’ve been fully vaccinated:

  • You will still need to follow guidance at your workplace and local businesses.
  • If you travel, you should still take steps to protect yourself and others.
  • Wearing a mask over your nose and mouth is required on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States and while indoors at U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations. Travelers are not required to wear a mask in outdoor areas of a conveyance (like on open deck areas of a ferry or the uncovered top deck of a bus).
  • Fully vaccinated international travelers arriving in the United States are still required to get tested 3 days before travel by air into the United States (or show documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months) and should still get tested 3-5 days after their trip.
  • You should still watch out for symptoms of COVID-19, especially if you’ve been around someone who is sick. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should get tested and stay home and away from others. If your test is positive, isolate at home for 10 days.
  • People who have a condition or are taking medications that weaken the immune system, should continue to take all precautions recommended for unvaccinated people until advised otherwise by their healthcare provider
Straight from the CDC and I highlighted what you are missing. Your angry reactions and snarky responses really make me wonder in all caring and sincerity how in check your anxiety is.

I'm really not in the mood to argue. In real life I had an unhinged parent at my door tonight because I dared ask about the vaccination status of the kids in a Dungeons and Dragon's group since parents are trying to know what's safe for all since not all family are able to be vaccinated (we've been remote except for last week outdoors only for over a year after we shut it down for a few months last spring). I really am tired of crazy and want to be as normal as possible.

Again my house is fully vaccinated, I'm 2 trials and 3 shots in, I spent many many hours helping people vaccinate, and I am about as pro-vax as you can get. I initially came here to help with anxiety which you did throw back in my face later. I'm not going to sit around and wait for life to explode. I've done what I could and likely reached more people to help than average. I don't need to get crap from both ends of the spectrum. I was called a coward tonight by an angry anti-vaxxer who threatened physical harm to me, all to protect kids. I think I'm good with where I am. Are you?

Probably follows that a large percentage of people there already plunked down thousands of dollars on a trip and stuck to it. Likely taking greater safety precautions than they had planned on.

Based on the post above this apparently the CDC disagrees If you are fully vaccinated.
Yeah…Parker is always a bit extreme…

but this is the same circular debate.

we REALLY need everyone to fall in line on the vax. Now…not waiting more months fighting a nonsense philosophical battle. It’s over…just suck it up, peeps.

the variants ability to spread more rapidly and get through some of the wall should be enough of a wake up call.

just extend the shields and keep people out of sickbay…that’s what Picard would do.

What do CDC guidelines on travel for fully vaccinated people have to do with not falling in line on the vax or a nonsense philosophical battle?

Because the root of the angst is people acting selfishly that may keep the plague going…

that’s Parker’s underlying thing and it’s being nit picked with the cdc “hardline”

thats kinda a blinders approach.

I can see both sides…not debating it really…but I can’t completely dismiss it.

in a week…some will be on here claiming cdc conspiracy/tyranny (again)…or claiming they’re not experts (again)

The CDC is recommending to stand in a large crowd of vacinated and unvaccinated strangers all without masks?
The post I referenced is an exact copy of the CDC guidelines for travel for fully vaccinated people. Below is the CDC guidelines for fully vaccinated people on masks outdoors:

Recommendations for Outdoor Settings

Current data suggest the risk of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in outdoor settings is minimal. In general, fully vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask outdoors. Fully vaccinated people might choose to wear a mask in crowded outdoor settings if they or someone in their household is immunocompromised.

So to answer your question, there is nothing in the CDC guidelines which says that its questionable judgement. You are free to disagree obviously, I was just pointing out that the CDC does not agree with your opinion.

So you’re up for the heel turn tonight?

Good…I got Thursday.

I feel a “ma’freedom” red herring coming on…

We are ALL tired…talking/ignoring isn’t a bold approach to this…however

I know…how dare I suggest adults “not get their magic”. 🙄

Yeah…I think I’m at that line and it’s time for a backstep.

back to fastpass conjecture 👍🏻

Seems like it’s all part of keeping up the pointless fight. Everything doesn‘t have to be black or white.

So the CDC puts out guidelines and recommendations to help people make decisions on what to do and what to avoid but fully vaccinated people are exercising poor judgement when they actually follow the CDC guidelines? And the reason is because other people are acting selfishly by not getting vaccinated? So if somehow every fully vaccinated person left WDW would that result in any more unvaccinated people getting the shot? I just can’t follow the logic.

I get being frustrated and all. The uber negativity is not good either. People need realism and balance. I wasn't nitpicking though. Just pointing out that vaccinated travel is like having a death wish is too much. Might as well just stay home entirely because nothing will ever be safe.

I'm over extremists. Especially after tonight. I just want to say it all after getting such hatred in person and yet online equating travel to auto death. I mask and all that indoors even though I hate it. Following guidelines is hardly nitpicking.
