I suppose if they want to upgrade my room to the Grand Floridian, with no change in price to my current package, then it would be kind of an offer that I couldnt refuse.

Areas of Florida crushing previous hospitalization records. Roughly 85% of them unvaccinated.

85% is actually low…every other state seems to be crushing 90% or above…

perhaps because of Florida’s “age” and that danger?

which is probably why it should have been the most strict…not the least?

That and the one place in the country(world in these times) that everyone(as in people form all over the US) are still visiting has something to do with it as well.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. For those that looked at the UK and projected hopefully that the US would soon see rapid declines in Covid... Cases are rising again in the UK.
My guess -- We are see the lagged effect of them dropping restrictions. Whether the increase in cases is just a blip and then they start to decline again, we will have to wait and see.

Escambia County near the AL/FL border doesn't surprise as having a high covid rate.

Which brings us full circle to ask should we really be worried about the travel business right now?

not an easy question to answer in simple terms

Well, not if you get to work from home with no loss of income or health insurance or, are living off of investments or a guaranteed pension.

The people who work in the travel industry might come to a different conclusion from you.

This is not March 2020. People have vaccines available to them.

That’s why I said it isn’t easy…

I think the cruise lines are the ones that are being screwed the most. No way in HELL the “freedom” people should be telling them what they can’t ask for…

tell them to go to car garages and stop them from screwing people on labor if they want to flex their desire to regulate…

Anyway…this is heartless and I always side with tourism worker in Florida…but I’ve had it with them too…

the vax rate is still pathetic…and simple numbers say that a large amount of those being “hurt” by travel woes didnt do it. There’s just too many to not influence the whole number…

shut up…arms out…stop the BS

If the increase is related to the removal of mitigations then why would it be relevant to the US since we don’t currently have mitigations most places so we won’t be removing a lot of mitigations. The exercise was to compare the arc from the delta variant outbreak in India and the UK to what could be the arc in the US. I would say they are 2 unrelated events for the UK.

Tweet without context. Here’s a fact check from a reputable source that paints a different picture:

I posted a tweet(s) that simply show the data of the percentage of breakthrough cases and that they are not "rare". It said absolutely nothing about the vaccine not being effective. Neither tweet said anything about vaccines not working.

The article (fact check) you referenced primarily focusses on disproving random tweets that said the vaccine is not affective. I was only trying to show that strictly blaming unvaccinated people for a rise in case numbers isn't exactly accurate.

But I get it. Your data can beat up my data.

Still the same…

…the predictions are no decline anytime soon in the US.

the vaccine “wall” isn’t begin enough to cause a natural barrier.

too much…too soon…same story since day 1

Tell that to the medical workers already stretched thin. Working longer hours because they are short staffed. But hey what do I care about my friends who work in hospitals....

Not sure if you think I stopped living my life or not, but I haven't. However people not vaccinating affects us all. So I will continue to push as I have for almost a year now.
You assume im advocating for not getting vaxed. On the contrary im advocating for us to move on to stop hiding in fear and panic. Anyone not vaxed in the usa by now doesn't want to be for whatever reason. They put themselves at risk. Eventually herd immunity will be a thing until than. Why do we all need to wear masks? Because some people wont get the vax? Its there bed there laying in. With all the consequences it comes with. To be fair i also dont think the goverment should mandate things. Because the goverments role is to be a handmaiden between citizen's. But alass that is a rabbit hole.

My arm was out on February and March. Can’t wait for my booster.

I also want everyone else to get vaccinated. But I also feel attacking and insulting them probably won’t get that accomplished.

Some unvaccinated tourism workers in FL ( ie WDW ) will have a few weeks to decide what's more important , the company directive to get vaccinated or risk losing their job if some refuse to get the shots.
