My SIL finally decided to get the vaccine; I know it was a hard choice for her, so I am proud. She has auto immune issues and is 33 weeks pregnant. Her doctor told her she should still get it because they are admitting newborns into the hospital from mothers that had the Delta variant. This is the first I heard of this, so I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it convinced her to get it for her baby. One of our employees finally decided to get the shot too. He is going to the UK, and buying a house. Figured if he got the shot, he doesn't have to quarantine in the UK and can be there for the closing (rather than work shipping him out 10 days earlier). So slowly, minds are changing. Just have hope. :)
One of my hold out coworkers just got his first jab the other day, the gaming control
board threatened to reduce our capacity to 50% if we don’t have a set percent of employees vaccinated, it’s still sad that we’re down from a few million vaccinations a day (a few months ago) to a half million a day now but every bit helps.

Does anyone else think the 2 big vaccine companies are currently pushing for booster shots only for the money? Report out this week shows they made crazy amounts of money off their shot.
“Pfizer’s vaccine brought in $7.8 billion in revenue in the last three months, the company said, and is on track to generate more than $33.5 billion this year.” I’m fully vaccinated and would take a booster if required but like we all learn follow the money…

Don't give up yet, looks like the unvaccinated people is starting getting vaccinating as by fall/winter US will have 70% or 85% vaccinated people soon.

On the contrary - we then have to deal with winter. It will be worst then.

Regardless of our differences, thank you for getting the vaccine.

I only had a sore arm both times.
My brother had the worst of it out of our family. He ran a fever after his second shot. We were at a baseball game and he fell asleep. Home run, horns going off, crowd cheering...and there's my brother, asleep.

Neither of my parents had any side effects besides a sore arm.

Yeah, it definitely varies. I actually delayed a few weeks once I was eligible, simply because my boyfriend and parents all had pretty severe reactions for 24-48 hours, and I just couldn't afford to take a day or two off work if I got sick, too. In the end, I too ended up having nothing but a sore arm - and that was only the first time. The second one I had nothing.

I would have taken any of the 3, but I’m team Moderna now :) It’s hard to believe I had to spend hours online looking for an appointment and it’s soooo easy now and so many people still can’t be bothered :(
I cannot believe how many hours I spent helping people get vaccines. I would have taken any offered to me obviously. Even could have had AZ/Oxford. They are all great and every single shot does help. But dang how easy it is now when I would often spend a few hours per person finding just the right location/time. Ugh. So easy now. I was initially worried about getting my son vaccinated, but by the time it was offered it was so easy to get him in. Quite sad but hopefully it will change.

I'm heartened every time I see a story of a "changed mind"

People who don't get the vaccine (unless they have a valid medical reason not to) deserve to be shamed and made to feel guilty. They are ruining this for everyone.
I agree, but we are quietly letting the situation take care of itself at this point.. The Delta and other variants likely coming will force the issue one way or another.

There will be those who will always be unaffected directly, and shaming them now is amazingly similar to goading someone who voted for and flew a flag of a recent loser. They took down the flag on their own after about a month or so and we are quietly not mentioning it to keep the peace.
Same folks mentioned above think since they probably already had Covid-19 Alpha (never got tested) in early 2019 that they are immune to all the variants.
We shall see. They may be right. They may be lucky. But we are vaxed. I like our odds much better.

It totally is if you have a 5g phone ;)

Seriously thank you. I know I'm just a stranger on the internet but I truly thank you for doing this!
At this point, I communicate with you folks more than most. This thread, while long ( is it the longest?) has been more than greatly appreciated. It could have been shut down a while back and many times since then.
IMO, it has a definitive value not just for us now, but for the future.
It has provided a needed outlet for true fans of something we all have in common. Yeah, it strays a bit, but this is important stuff.

I have mentioned it before, but Thank You again to the WDWMagic.com site forum owners and moderators!

Does anyone else in here open it up and get surprised at the number we are at in such a short time?
