Meanwhile at the Mouse house no word on updated mask guidance but they added more park capacity for the Oct 1 start of the 50th anniversary 🤨🤔😳

Thank you both.

Want cruelty? The girl was thrown down the stairs by her previous owner. Her leg broke and the jerk never took her to fix it. So she had 14 years with us dealing with arthritis, pain, and scar tissue related to absue. Bad teeth too. She was a mess by the time she died, but we did all we could until the end to love her. I'm partially angry today because the world sucks and we see so many suffer because people are selfish jerks who care no one. Just gets me so bad sometimes.
So sorry for the loss of your cat. When I read things like you said there’s one quote that come to mind and it’s so true.

If Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings has his way, WDW should beef up their masks for sale inventory in prep for the crowds coming in the fall.

Your math is highly simplistic, and disregards the physics of the situation.

Virus particles do not travel independently. They travel in spit. Just because there are 1000x more virus particles doesn't mean you have started salivating at the mouth like a rabid dog.

Instead the virus particles are jamming themselves into the same amount of spit as you were breathing out before. Like the difference between a subway car during weekday commuting hours (Delta) and the same subway car at 10AM on a Sunday (previous variants).

While more virus is present in smaller droplets, and therefore getting through, the virus is not distributed evenly. There is still way more virus in large droplets than small ones. Masks still block large droplets. And every bit of virus in those large droplets. It will not scale in the manner you calculated.

I have no idea what the actual numbers might be. But I do know that PPE is used with highly transmissible infectious diseases and less transmissible infectious diseases, with high rates of success. Which is why we do it. We aren't hearing how attending nurses and doctors are contracting the highly transmissible infectious diseases at high rates, even though they are spending extended periods of time in the presence of an infected patient either.
Doesn't the math still work with your explanation? If the same amount of spit is getting through the mask but each droplet of spit has 1000x the virus particles, you still end up with 9000% of the virus particles escaping the mask which is over 8x the virus particles with no mask of the prior variants.

For doctors and nurses, they are using PPE designed to block 95% of even aerosolized particles. Maybe 5% of any viral or bacterial load isn't enough to infect. As far as I've seen, cloth masks don't really block any aerosols, only droplets. For the few bacteria or viruses that might be more contagious than that, hazmat suits would be used.

He doesn't have any power to have his way. If WDW beefs up their mask inventory it will be because they decided to bring back mask requirements.

I know we are focused on WDW here but Orange County, California is also red on the CDC map for community transmission. The guidance released yesterday would apply to Disneyland also. I haven't seen any movement yet from Disney to reintroduce masks there.

No. Over 70% of adults over the age of 12 are vaccinated.

The people who refuse to vaccinate and refuse to mask have been breaking every rule since the beginning of this.
Wrong. According to the CDC, 72.3% of the entire population of MA has had at least one dose and 63.6% are fully vaccinated. Both numbers are the entire population not a subset of 12+.

It doesn't work that way. The current delta variant is much more transmissible than the original strain. It has already been shown that the delta variant can be transmitted to those vaccinated. With this increased contagion and ample time, the delta variant will mutate into another new variant.

It's important right now to get as many people as possible vaccinated to crush the delta variant and stop the emergence of a new variant. New variants will be more resistant to the current vaccine and even vaccinated people will suffer and die.

I and all my family members have been fully vaccinated. We still wear surgical masks everywhere we go and practice social distancing. If you fail to wear a mask you could very well pay for "other's stupidity" with your life. The virus is not under control yet.

Unless there is a major increase in vaccination rates, this virus will continue to be deadly for at least the next year. Such a highly contagious and deadly respiratory virus will be with us for the next several years at current vaccination levels.

Crowded venues such as WDW are off my list until the virus is under control.
I'm scared about this. Is really gonna happen guys.

Well more than usual. I'm a bit emotionally drained myself tonight... we had to put our 16yo cat down last week and got her remains today. So take my last post to you with love and not negativity too ;)
I know how you feel. I posted a picture of our new puppy a few weeks ago to lighten the mood here, but what I didn't mention is that we recently lost our beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to heart failure. He was the sweetest, most loving, gentle being in God's creation, but unfortunately, he only lived to age 7. Loosing a pet is heartbreaking. RIP, Olaf, we'll see you at the rainbow bridge (no, not named after the Disney character!)

"Nevada is re-imposing a mask mandate for public indoor settings in places where COVID-19 is surging, including the state's largest cities, state authorities said Tuesday.

Governor Steve Sisolak's order, effective at 12:01 a.m. Friday, follows an indoor masking recommendation issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention earlier in the day.

State officials said they hope the three-day grace period gives businesses time to adapt to the new guidelines affecting residents regardless of vaccination status in 12 of the state's 17 counties."

"Nevada's indoor mask requirements will apply to Reno, Las Vegas, Carson City, Elko and other cities. The state Gaming Control Board confirmed the mandate would apply to casinos in counties with high transmission rates."

Awww, such a cutie! It really is hard to lose them so young like that :(

This was my Lily. We were lucky to have her 14 years... never thought she would make it that long with her history.

Frankly I'm stunned that it's even 63.3%. I went into one of our town FB groups to see if there was an update posted on masks in schools for the fall and that was a huge mistake.

Someone was asking if it was legal for her to ask a restaurant server if they're vaccinated. The number of untrue answers (even had "a mental health professional" invoking HIPAA, which doesn't apply at all), people screaming about civil rights, flippant responses, and male toxicity made me ashamed of living here. I would bet $1000 that all those responses were from people who are unvaccinated.

I would not be surprised if Disney requires all guests to mask up shortly again since unvaccinated folks cannot play by the rules.

Not vaccinated you must continue to wear a mask if you are vaccinated you can go with out a mask. Very simple but people refuse to follow CDC guidelines thus we will be back into the mask zone soon.

Is the future variants will resistant to the current and future vaccines is really gonna happen anytime. I don't want this happen, also is Delta spike will go ending like a couple weeks or six weeks soon?

At least NJ, PA, NY, IL, as other northeast states are not hit hard by Delta variants.

This is getting worse as future COVID-19 variants will ending vaccines as the millions people will die more as possible the world would be ending anytime in the future like the prediction tolds like a doomsday is coming very soon. I mean Virus Doomsday SOON! I expecting the worst come is by this fall/winter causes a bigger spike for Thanksgiving and Christmas!:eek::eek: @ImperfectPixie @GoofGoof @helenabear @DisneyCane
