That’s untrue then. Or misquoted. I hesitate to call it fake news but you seem to have believed it.

Italys toll rose by 627 in the last 24 hours. Last count was 4032.

I read it as well, it is an accurate quote but from one medical person. However, just because the doctors have stopped counting doesn't mean the morgues have. Death certificates need to be filed, and such. So someone is still counting, and is likely the source of the official numbers, but I'm guessing the doctors in their hospitals were counting before, and now some of them aren't. The depressing and horrible thought is that there may be now a "backlog" of bodies awaiting processing. 😢

The biggest problem is CNN, Fox News and MSNBC are mostly entertainment these days not actually news. In a continuing attempt at gaining ratings they have come to the conclusion that sadly people don’t want just the facts anymore. The more over the top you act the better the ratings. Especially in the evenings and mornings when the talking heads are on. In some cases not even an attempt at being accurate or factual. Some are worse than others. Some of the brainwashed masses still think they are News networks and believe everything they say without question. Just like professional wrestling is based on a real sport...it’s still entertainment.

Get your news from BBC or a local source.
Have you watched the BBC lately? It isn't much different than CNN... as for local sources, a lot of them just parrot what they have seen on CNN or Fox. Even worse are the local papers which more often than not are shell of their former selves and just reprint full stories they pulled off AP or in some cases just cherry pick part of AP stories because they care more about making them fit the space available than providing the full story.

It’s exactly the type of poorly written, scaremongering journalism the world does not need. It insinuates there’s too many dead bodies to count, when that is not the case.

Then get the news from your pet parrot, Binky. Though I've heard he surfs reddit while you sleep.

To each their own. Keep watching Fox News if that’s what makes you happy :)

It is interesting to me like the major theme park players in the UK remain open. West End went down I thought those would as well.

They won’t stay open now. All pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues have been told to close effective immediately.
I can’t see the likes of Thorpe Park and Alton Towers surviving. They’re already run on a shoestring budget as it is.

Disney seeks to raise $6 billion through debt offerings.

Didn't Moody's say that Disney had enough cash to whether the storm?
Disney has almost no debt under normal circumstances and they buy a lot of shares back. It’s just prudent balance sheet management to keep extra cash on handle in trying times. Especially with the borrowing rates so low. It’s almost free Money.

They have about $38 billion in long-term debt as of September 2019, compared to $17 billion the year prior. No points for guessing how it got that high.

That is interesting, especially when you consider the UK has a higher infection rate than the US does right now... I think UK was at 59/million people and the US was at 55... so we are catching up... But who knows maybe opening theme parks in the UK will let you guys win the race.

This was clearly mishandled in the beginning. Anyone not brainwashed can see that. Now is not the time to play the blame game. It’s about doing what’s necessary now before it’s too late. Every hour of every day counts. We wasted some in the beginning so there’s no time to spare now.
Every single country mishandled it in the same way at the beginning. I'm not sure if there was really any way to handle it due to the seemingly very high percentage of asymptomatic or very mild cases.

They quarantined "patient zero" in Washington State and investigated/monitored everyone he came in close contact with on the flight and from the time he landed until he got medical attention.

The problem with this virus is that it doesn't cause serious illnesses in a very high percentage of patients. Therefore, it is hard to quarantine.

I sure as heck don't think the population would have accepted these extreme measures back when it was only a handful of cases, mostly at a nursing home in Washington. The only way to have contained it would have been a complete lockdown of the country and borders for 30 days when the first case happened. International travel would have to be banned until the whole world was rid of it.
