I’ve been holding off, but I think I’m going to take vacation next week. That might be better than waiting to get shut down. I don’t know... DeWine says he doesn’t want to get to that point, but with other states doing it who knows. This is such a rock and a hard place. :(

Anyone know if all hotels are offering refunds? I have a paid-in-full non cancelable 8 night vacation in June, in Punta Cana.
The only email I’ve received from them is that many of their resorts are closed in Europe.

I’m not ready to cancel yet.. but if I’m out of my office most of March, I can’t really see just saying peace out again in June.

Thank goodness. Finally.

This has nothing to do with my politics, but I'm glad he has quickly and effectively taken this seriously. We have the conference on now, and he said, "I have to look back 10 years from now and know that I did everything in my power to protect the people of New York."

Not necessarily verbatim, but I appreciated the sentiment.

Testing at resorts (or WDW) will never happen because you're forgetting one crucial element - those tests need to go to a lab to be processed.
It wont happen right now because out glorious FDA has only approved one test that uses PCR to do the test... but there are companies in other parts of the world that are already testing methods that could be done without the same amount of lab equipment and that provide results in 15 minutes.

Who is going to PAY for it? And do you really think any lab could be bothered with testing 35,000+ people because they want to go to a theme park?

I'm hoping it doesn't get to that point, considering alot of smaller suburbs (Middleburg Heights for example) have been pretty much shuttered by this. Imagine if Cleveland or say, Cinci goes down. Major crisis for Ohio

is this a joke?

Why would it be a joke? A lot of companies are offering to take PTO if someone needs it.. whether for sickness, to care for sick, or if kids are out of school, or if you’re not comfortable working right now.
Some are offering it without using your regular vacation time, some are not. Mine is in the ‘not’ category.

How in the world would that be a “ joke”?

Exactly. It looks like DeWine is really trying to avoid it, but every time another city goes down, I get a little more worried.
