Someone not getting the vaccine is baffling to me.

I suspect trolling is the montivation.

And misinformation/ignorance. A co-worker reached out when she heard that I had mild side effects to my second dose. When I asked her if she had any effects, she told me that she can't take the vaccine because she's "allergic to penicillin." I'm deathly allergic to penicillin as well, and went into a deep panic. I did all the research I could, and every single article said that all of the vaccines have zero traces of penicillin, and that they were perfectly safe to take if you're allergic. I relayed the information to her, and she just laughed and said she's not taking any chances. You can't save 'em all. 🤷‍♂️

42 skiing deaths during the 2018/2019 season. Care to remind me how many covid deaths we are at right now?
No, I really don't care to. But the point is the same. If there's a tax, or litigation or any possible way to make a buck, once that door is opened, it will never close so because I bust my butt to make a living, I don't wish to enable anyone any reason to separate money from my wallet.

Sadly, this is a situation where they can't be ignored. It's the worst VR game I've ever been forced to play.

and I bet you if we have another epidemic in like 5 years, they'll say "ohh it was the vaccine!!!! They did it on PURPOSE!!!!"
They were already doing that from the day their heroes told them what to think and say. I woke up and was like, eep, looks like we have to do something. They woke up, received their orders, and made fun of folks like me who deigned to face a pandemic like it were... I don't know, a pandemic.

I'm still alive so no penicillin link. There were some rumors before everything was approved, but just called up doc and she said all information she was given said no reactions.

She's an idiot.

I'm allergic to penicillin and had zero side effects. I discussed it with the pharmacist first and he said there is nothing to be worried about with this vaccine in regards to a penicillin allergy.

Yeah, my dad and I are just fine, too. In fact, my super needle averse 65 year old father had no side affects to report at all. I can’t say anything I experienced was vaccine abnormal, just maybe more pronounced.

Is this the result of some YouTube “specialist’s” reaction to the extremely early days and anaphylactic reactions? I’m baffled.

I hate to break it to you, but taxes, fees, licenses, permits, penalties have been around for quite a while to dissuade certain behavior or keep certain actions to an allowable minimum or to regulate and create safe/healthy environments.

Conversely, awards, discounts, deals and allowances have been in place to motivate behavior.

Both in public and private life.

I'm all for vaccine passports. We've done them before, we should do them again.

Considering the conspiracies I've heard in the past year, nothing would surprise me. Imagine someone insisting there was a YouTube video that explained how covid was engineered to cut down on the amount of people drawing Social Security because of dwindling funds.o_O:banghead: Sometimes I don't even know....

The most severe side effects they observed in the Pfizer and Moderna trials were anaphylaxis, and a little over half of the subjects who experienced this reaction had a previous history of a similar reaction to something (could have been a medication, food, bee sting, etc.). So initially, one of the precautions for vaccine recipients was to wait in the observation area for a little longer if they had a prior history of anaphylaxis (people with a history of reaction to a known vaccine component, like polyethylene glycol, are advised not to receive the injection at all). However, even with the prior history, provided it isn't a reaction to one of the components, the risk of this complication from the vaccines is still exceptionally low. And although anaphylaxis is scary, it's also relatively easy to treat.

One final thing... most people with a reported reaction to penicillin aren't actually allergic to it. The rash that children frequently get after treatment of strep throat with a penicillin usually results from a non-allergic immune reaction to the cell contents of the dead bacteria, not an allergic reaction to the medication. Now, if there was throat swelling, and shortness of breath... that probably was a real allergy to penicillin.

Here in CT, 61% of adults have been vaccinated. As such, our outdoor mask mandate ends 5/1. I would love to see this happen at WDW, and if it becomes more commonplace around the country, Disney wouldn’t have an issue reminding people to put the mask on indoors—they’ll be used to it. But no mask in the summer sun would be lovely!

If the case levels fall off a cliff in the next month or two as some think it will it will be a moot point.

I don't think you understood what I was saying.

I'm saying the federal government has the legal authority to do that (it's exactly what they did with Obamacare); they probably don't have the legal authority to force everyone to take a vaccine (even though state governments may). I wasn't offering an opinion as to whether or not I personally believe they should do that.

I also said I can't imagine they actually will.

Touche, the Obama care tax was an absolute failure in my opinion.

So a question not directly related, but you stated that you will not get the vaccine. Do you have any family members that you interact with that are older or may have other medical conditions? You do understand that you can easily be infected, not know it, but still pass it on to others, making them seriously ill with the virus? I guess if you never interact with any older relatives that it matters little to you, but almost all of us have an older relative that we want to see at some point, that we haven't been able to visit for over a year. Anyway, just curious.

Asymptomatic spread has been proven not to be true in other countries. If Asymptomatic spread is legitimate which there are no studies to have proved it is or isn't in the US, In fact even the CDC says it is unclear if those who have a vaccine can still spread it Asymptomaticly.

Unfortunately there is just too much unknown about this virus and also Unfortunately the leading medical professionals in this country have let politics get involved and we have failed to let our objective reasoning of medical professionals take over.

Youre not going to make me feel bad for not getting the vaccine. There are plenty of illnesses out there that you don't take vaccines for that you pass onto others. We can play the same game, do you let your kids eat whatever they want, do they sit in front of a TV all day, do you smoke, do you drink, do you speed in your car? These are life decisions you make that could affect someone else, but we aren't telling you to take your foot off the pedal in a car or spoon out of an obese child's mouth are we?

Some people are misinformed and others are just reckless in saying things to get attention. I overheard a woman at my hair salon tell her stylist that “now you need a third shot to avoid getting blood clots and they’re going to charge for those.” I have no idea why anyone would say that. It was clearly made up.

The blood clot thing is very limited but the scary thing about it is we don't know why it's happening in that small population. It's probably deeper than we will know for some time
