She should be wearing a mask when in public or while at work. I don't know why I don't see a lot of people wearing masks. N95 masks would be preferable.
Also (sorry I hit enter before I was done)...and cdc recommends against it. I was angry because a woman who works there wanted to wear latex gloves when she was at the register and they said she could not because it would scare the customers. My mom also works at the same Publix.

Here is a first hand experience from someone who has the disease. Scary stuff!

Yeah okay this has definitely made me more scared since he prefaced it all saying he's a healthy Type 1 Diabetic. I am a healthy Type 1 Diabetic, I am only 20 so just about half his age, but still. I know that with Diabetes you are more susceptible to these things, but typically that's with poor sugar controls when it really starts to make you prone to worse sicknesses. I am taking quarantining very serious and this has made me take it even more serious, that sounds like a nightmare I would never want to go through.

Well I guess the President must be suffering from hysteria because he said, in the last 24 hours, that this could run through July or August.

I’m sorry, I don’t understand how “the virus could run thru July or August” has anything to do with someone posting an incorrect announcement of schools closures.

This is how we got into the toilet paper scenario.. one person posting something, and then wildfire spread. It benefits all of us to remain as accurate as possible. Mistakes will obviously happen, from all of us., but then we need to stop spreading misinformation what the mistake is realized.

In general, people around here are great about posting correct information. Facebook and Twitter are cesspools.

I have to say that that photo that's being circulated of all those people in Clearwater is not what is uniform across the state, despite spring break or not. That beach is pretty much always crowded. It's like THE beach in Clearwater. However, you can go 7 miles down the road to Indian Rocks and find barely anyone there. On the flipside, you could go to Canaveral National Seashore on the East Coast on most days and have virtually the entire place to yourself. Now, Miami / Ft. Lauderdale is a different story, but I am not surprised they're not closing absolutely all the beaches (at least as of this writing). Our entire state, after all, has beaches bordering it :)

Use gloves then if you want to avoid touching your face. Please don't encourage wearing face masks for healthy people when there's already an enormous shortage and they should be reserved for healthcare workers.
Yeah but then you see people like these celebrities where clearly they are wearing the proper masks

Makes sense. The government has to know which beaches get crowded. They could close the bigger tourist beaches and allow the quiet local beaches to remain open. We don’t have beaches here, but my township closed the larger parks with playgrounds but the smaller ones with just waking trails in the woods are still open. It’s impossible to have 6 foot social distancing in a large crowd but a little time in nature is good for us all.

Willfully closing one's ears or eyes does not change reality. If the advice the President is receiving suggests that the emergency conditions are going to continue into July/August then the school closures are going to be extended beyond April, and probably the Park closures too. California's Governor has said as much today and Florida and other States will have to acknowledge the same realities sooner rather than later.

The president did not say that we will have closures til August.

We don’t know what will happen, but that’s not what was said, so let’s not worry people more than they’re already worried.
