Exactly. I’ve been able to get appointments for some of my older relatives but not everyone has someone who can or is willing to do that. Pretty soon states will be ramping up the next phase of vaccinations which will be active campaigns to find people who still want the vaccine and find a way to get it to them. It will be slower going then opening mass vaccination sites or online pharmacy chain appointments but it’s no less important.
So true! Those without support or access will the the last to get in. I had one I scheduled for this week that had me literally sweating because I knew how long they'd been at it, but didn't have the means to do everything. Talking with a friend today, their sibling is out of work but tech savvy so we started him on how to help. I have a a few friends on city counsel and plan to see if there is a way we can help others.

It’s not actually a vaccine? I’m almost afraid to ask what they think it is then? That’s a new one I haven’t heard yet. Did someone tell the anti-vaxx movement that the Covid vaccine is not really a vaccine? That would blow their minds ;)

Simone Gold put out a video attacking the vaccine and referring to it as an "experimental biological agent"? I know some people who bought into that.

Yeah, I've seen this theory floating around social media lately. It seems to be an argument that mRNA vaccines are not really vaccines because they are not made with inactivated virus samples or genetically-engineered antigens.

It's the same sort of "overly literal interpretation of CDC information" nonsense that led to the conspiracy theory that COVID deaths weren't from COVID due to having multiple causes listed on the death certificates. In both cases people take a data point from an official CDC source, interpret it in an extremely literal fashion (in this case, a traditional description of a vaccine), and twist the information into a false narrative on social media.
By that theory the diphtheria (in DTap), and tetanus shot are not vaccines either. None use inactive microorganisms, and actually use toxoids. It makes no sense.
Side thought: Which makes me wonder how many botox injected people say they won't get vaccinated.

Many are struggling to find appointments still. Some need rides or help in general getting to one. If we can do more out reaching to others maybe we can get it up!
Definitely need transportation options, many in our town aren't aware the medicab will take people on Medicare/medicaid to appointments free of charge if they live in city limits. That covers some people for transportation at least, the single city bus (paid for by either donating a canned item or recycling) stops at only 1 of the 4 vaccination sites. But that leaves the other 50% of the county population without transportation options.

You take your vaccine just like the followers down at Jonestown, Guyana 🇬🇾. Jim Jones would be proud of you for drinking the Kool-Aid. Vaccines can several years of clinical studies to deem it safe, not a couple of months. Didn’t any red flags 🚩 go up when a lot of people are having a bad reactions to their second shot.
Now, the experts are saying everyone needs another shot on September 💰 💰 💰
Something with a death rate of .015 percent isn’t A reason to be a human experiment 😉😂
Edit: plus, the Pharmaceutical companies are immune to lawsuits 😉
Like none of this is true.

There was no "Kool-Aid" but that's a different subject altogether

Joe nothing he is not helpful. The doom and gloom folks are still running around as vocal as ever. Same folks that were loud about Y2K and the Mayan calendar. It is almost as if there is some kind of perverse satisfaction to spreading fear.

...you win the prize for this one

Sadly quite a few multi degree holding, title holding with a plethora of acronyms after their names people are doom and gloom minded. Oh! also proven wrong in their analysis, projections and guidance. Good things are happening and improvement is occurring despite the negativity anyway as there are plenty of good people counterbalancing the dark thinkers.

Actually...their projections have been right all along...if you understand how projections work.

The past year clearly taught some people nothing. It’s depressing as hell.
For one, it did teach us that the government can take away your limited privileges anytime they want. You really don’t have any rights. The owners of the country store calling the shots. Look at the family owned businesses that were forced to close although they were essential but the big corporate business remained open. They are the ones who have the politicians in their back pocket. Everyone is titled to their opinion and you can choose to believe your opinion.😊

You could start your own country if you want no government control but then you would be the government and in control. I don't get where the no rules for me thinking comes in, as long as you want to live in this one then there are rules and the government does have control . Just wait til you have to deal with the IRS over a tax beef or local powers that be.

Yes look at all those big corporate businesses like the movie theaters, chain restaurants, cruise lines, theme parks, etc who definitely didn’t suffer at all during the still ongoing pandemic. Your argument is totally solid. 🙄

We learned not to feed the trolls. Oh, wait . . .
We all make mistakes sometimes. Same with forgetting the ignore option works well here.

I'm actually quite against a bigger government in many cases. Though when it comes to health, I'm more lenient, especially with minors. Like I really find adult safety belt laws to be silly, but I appreciate it for kids (please don't debate, but giving an example). I even have no issues with saying no smoking, or wear a mask etc as it's for the good for the health of all who cannot protect themselves enough on their own. Wearing a mask indoors is not that big of a deal to me. Why a year later people decry wearing baffles me. Why people decry making policies that helped drop cases (we had done great here when we started before jerks ran Dr. Acton out) I just don't get it. Yes, companies suffered. My house felt it. I feared my company wouldn't survive too. It wasn't trying to punish or restrict, but to save lives. This shouldn't be such a sticking point, but it is. And if you say it, the naysayers label you as something bad.
