CVS, WALGREENS AND RITE AID all started hiring thousands of people late last year to distribute the vaccine. It is just wrong for anyone to say steps were not taken for the distribution of the vaccine.

As for the number of vaccines available, I still contend as I have for months that by the end of April the pandemic will be over. If those on the left insist on saying Biden did it all, believe what you want but the truth in the vaccine and its distribution is following the plan set in Operation Warp Speed. The major pharmacies are the ones that will distribute most of the shots and in peoples neighborhoods. Biden is now saying May for all adults but with the increases of all 3 vaccines it will actually be faster and Biden and the CDC know that.

Mississippi announced that, like Texas, they are ending the mask mandate and allowing businesses to resume 100% capacity. Like it or not, I think this is the trend we are going to see over the next few weeks.
In the “blue state“ equivalent up here in PA the governor announced today that capacity limits on both indoor and outdoor facilities are increasing as well as the removal of the travel quarantine rule for anyone traveling out of state or out of state visitors coming in. We still have masks and distancing but things are starting to relax some. My kid’s school district is going to 5 day a week school for middle and high school instead of hybrid.

Dr.Patel of the CDC was just on a newscast I was watching and she said what Texas is doing is very disturbing, especially being a state under the 10% mark of vaccinations. She said she is very worried about the state and neighboring areas. It’s still not up online with her interview but she said when we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, why are we taking these chances.

They fell way behind on vaccines due to the storm. It’s kinda hard to understand why the move on masks. Doesn‘t hurt businesses and allows things to stay safer.

I clicked on yahoo news and there were 6 negative stories about Trump and nothing on Biden and people think he’s going to fade away. Ha

Oh I don’t think he’ll be Dan Quayle in a week...he likes the attention too much.

But he isn’t young and Father Time is undefeated. And pending cuomo resignation aside...the seething desire to “get em” in New York isn’t going to go away either...

They’ve know he’s a financial fraud for 40
Years...but neither the state people or the manahattan Feds ever felt it was worth it to embarrass him/take him down...

Until 11/9/2016

I’m calling it right now, WDW and the country will be back to normal by the 4th of July, and it’s going to be one hell of a party. It takes 4 weeks after your shot to be protected with J&J, so Moderna’s 6 weeks is still the longest wait. The fourth is nearly 6 weeks after the end of May. Barring a varient escaping the vaccine all restrictions will be lifted no later then Independence Day.

Maybe. I think it's very very likely that lots of people (and states) will have stopped mitigation measures by July 4th.
We may very well still have the CDC yelling as us to pull back.

Look what's happening in Texas now... Already ending mask mandates..

This type of behavior *could* lead to a March/April surge... which may make us pull back a bit.

Basically, I'll cross my fingers that we can *safely* have a normal WDW by July 4th.

Just a guess but lifts on caps but masks for a while after that. Depending on what the numbers on the ground look like

As long as you don't buy into "super spreader" events as there's a very good chance for protests in the coming weeks as the Floyd case goes to trial. But then, I'm still not seeing the big jump from the Super Bowl. So maybe it's much ado.

I assume that any business still has the right to impose their own rules on masks within their premises, right? This change only impacts public places.

It’s based on the assumption that the more we vaccinate the more the case numbers plummet. Watch what happens this month, we are set to double our vaccinations per day. If we are going to get to 100% by the end of May, we need to go from 15% to 40% in this month.

Goof's optimism may be paying off. A very very good sign... and brings back the possibility of greater normalcy by summer.

I don't believe Fauci or Biden were ever being less forthright than the best information they had at the time (though perhaps phrasing things on the more cautious side).
I don’t think it was being less than forthright, just overly conservative with a target of end of July. I like this announcement so much better. There’s a chance we don’t get there and miss the target but I’d much prefer they set an aspirational goal and shoot for achieving it then something that was almost impossible not to make.

Let's assume the best, just for the sake of a hypothetical. Let's say case numbers, hospitalizations, and deaths continue to decline. And let's say that Biden is correct and we have enough vaccine by the end of May for any adult who wants it. And let's say that the trend continues of states eliminating mandatory restrictions.

When do you think Walt Disney World pulls back on their restrictions? Not when do you think they should, but when do you think they would?

I'm optimistically pragmatic. Hoping for the best and hoping everybody who can get a shot but fearing opening up too soon may slow things down.

I don’t necessarily think that July 4th is a “big party”...but the more important thing is being prepared to adjust for any issue like this in the future.

If people can learn the lessons and be able to respond the next time response is needed? Then burn your mask

Yes, businesses can still mandate. I don’t think it’s like FL where the Governor was threatening local governments and attempting to prevent mask mandates or capacity limits. Just no longer required statewide. I would assume many large cities in TX can still have their own rules as well.

Capacity 4th of July masks maybe for the 50th
