Just an update on possible vaccine availability for my step-dad early 70s, still living at home, too many health issues to list but it puts him as priority when Indiana goes phase 1b.
According to doc it could possibly be available February if they keep the planned pace, but that could change based on when Moderna finally gets distributed. He still won't be allowed to work until masks are no longer recommended to the general public :(

My aunt got vaccinated a couple days ago. Over 65 and managed a LTC facility's nursing staff for a long time... but has been retired for several years and no underlying health issues. Meanwhile my wife (physical therapist - treats patients every day, though hopefully with good screening and PEE) isn't close to the front of the line. Weird.

Just curious how did she get vaccinated then? All my local health care friends had the option. Only those who recently were positive are waiting it seems.

Or we can ban the vaccine deniers who've been warned about posting lies and so they troll the boards with the Haha emoji.
That same poster insisted that hospitals were inflating COVID numbers for profit, because repeating the hackneyed catch-phrase "follow the money" obviously is all the proof that is needed.

Amazing how the circles of the Venn diagram predictably intersect.

There is one poster on here that laughs at everything I post. I'm starting to think I need to start a new career as a comedian. It's just an emoji for goodness sake. I've seen some pretty awful insults on here and the posters are still around...just saying.
I could care less about emojis. My only point is you were characterizing the other post as someone saying a poster should be banned because they don’t agree with the majority opinion when that was not accurate at all. I’m not a moderator (thank god with the way people carry on here;)) so I leave the decisions on banning or reprimanding people to someone else.

One poster said we should ban vaccine deniers that is what I would call not agreeing with the majority opinion...at least it is on this forum. That is what the poster said. As far as the emojis are concerned...who cares. I think it's annoying and they have no place, but the upgrade was made a few years ago and all the forums went with it.

He was talking about a specific person which I would have thought was obvious based on the chain of posts but maybe not. You and a few others here have every right to defend and support that person’s actions and statements if you so choose and as far as I know the person isn’t banned so it’s a kinda pointless argument. Nobody is preventing an opposing view.

So got the vaccine today (In Orange County) - basically you sat in your car (after a 3 1/2 hour wait) and they inject you there. For observation they have a parking area set up. You're tagged with a small code on a sticker when you first check in, so thats how the people in the lot know how long to monitor you. I was told they have 35,000 reservations and 40 nurses

I don't know what post your referring to{ probably removed} and I'm not defending anyone opinions. I defend peoples right to decent within the rules. They put laughing emojis on their forum so I'm guessing it's ok..
As someone who has posted in the Politics subforum from the beginning, I can tell you it is against forum rules to use the laugh emoji in a sarcastic or mocking manner. People have been suspended from the subforum for months at a time over it.

This post may not have started in the Politics section, but it was moved there. @The Mom just hasn’t gotten around to enforcing it on this thread. On other threads, that behavior has been monitored like a hawk.

Nice. Good for you and for all of us too :) Any reaction so far?

I see a lot of people who advocate for removing Covid restrictions in the name of the economy or for the benefit of workers in travel or restaurant or retail businesses. The very best thing we can all do to get the economy running full speed as soon as possible and to help workers is to all get the vaccine as soon as we are eligible. Everyone needs to do their part. I do find it ironic that some of the people who rail on and on about the economy and workers are also saying they don’t plan on getting the vaccine right away. Makes you wonder if they really care at all about others or just want to do what they want to do.
