Thank you for posting.. but this is still like the others I’ve read. It doesn’t break down how many were tested per county.

Here’s why I think we all should have that info-

The counties with 0-5, have only 0-5 been tested? Do the counties with higher positives have more completed tests than the ones with lower?

This should be public info available to all.
Without it, the sweeping state wide mandates aren’t making sense.

Did you see the note that private labs are not required to provide "negative numbers." Even if the state labs reported, it would be meaningless with an increasingly number of tests being done by private labs. It is apparently not public info. I wonder if that is the case in other states, and so you will never be able to find the info you desire.

Their officials are blaming us saying our military created the Corona virus and unleashed it there.
This isn't the internet or media saying this, this is their government officials and ambassadors.

Yes I know. All to distract from their lies and negligence that brought this world to the place we’re at now.

They had the power and knowledge to let every one else know what was going on. They had the power to cancel incoming and outgoing flights. They didn’t. They hid it. They lied.

Now, they’re trying to come up with crazy theories for crazy people, all to shift blame from where blame is due, themselves.

People can go on political rants all they want.. Try to turn this into one more attempted Gotcha Game with Trump., OR, they can look at what happened, honestly.. and then just try to deal with what we are currently faced with.
I don’t even care about China’s responsibility at this point.. I just want countries to deal and recover from this without spiraling into a deep recession.

Yes, which is frustrating. They should be required to report.. and until then, the state should report all tests by county.

MGM is closing all of its Las Vegas properties (both the hotels and casinos) due to coronavirus concerns.

This includes: Aria, MGM Grand , Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, Bellagio, The Mirage, New York-New York

368 people in Italy died in the last 24 hours from this virus. But yeah, you’re right, people are totally overreacting.
The problem with the 368 number is that they never bother to break down the ages of those that died or whether they were being treated or set aside to die. My understanding is that a large number of the deaths were in people over 80 years olds and that in some hospitals they didn't have enough ventilators so they were having to pick and choose who got one and who was basically pushed to the side to die... when you have a situation like that it is going to make the number of death very dramatic indeed.

"Atlanta-based Chick-Fil-A announced Sunday night that they are closing dining room seating.

"As we navigate the evolving impact of coronavirus on our communities, we are temporarily closing our dining room seating to help limit person-to-person contact," the company said in a statement.

Officials said some locations may only offer service through the drive-thru windows while others may be able to offer takeout, delivery or mobile order options. It's unclear which stores will allow which options."

From United Airlines -

"Let us be clear: these are not the only next steps. Tomorrow, we will announce an approximately 50% cut in capacity for April and May. We also now expect these deep cuts to extend into the summer travel period. Even with those cuts, we're expecting load factors to drop into the 20-30% range -- and that's if things don't get worse."

Not only should there be info about testing but also there should be info released about how many people that tested positive needed to be hospitalized. Of those that did, how many needed ventilators.

Without that data, you can't begin to project how many hospital beds and ventilators will be needed if X% of the population is infected. Using current numbers will give a high estimate because not nearly enough testing has been done to get an idea of mild or asymptomatic cases.

The "powers that be" are using the potential hospital bed and ventilator shortage as justification for these insane measures. It should be incumbent on them to make the data available that they are basing this concern on.

Italy is having this issue but they have, by far, the highest confirmed case density of any country. A density that is around 40 times the current US density. They also have the second oldest population in the world.

When the government of a State is essentially declaring martial law, they should be required to justify it with facts, not speculation.

It is disheartening to me that the media doesn't ask these questions. Instead they ask "gotcha" questions or ask the VP what he is doing about ventilator supply so "thousands of Americans don't suffocate." Instead, they should be asking for data that can be used to project how many ventilators are needed.

It is also disheartening how many fellow citizens just take the statements of these officials as gospel and don't question the logic.

Unfortunately even those number aren't really that accurate because they don't have enough data on Americans yet to come up with good data. There are genetic differences between the typical Chinese patient and the typical American, from the genetic differences where Asians have a higher amount of ACE2 enzymes in their bodies than others, or the cultural differences where 68% of males in China smoke which is much higher than in the US. Given smoking and ACE2 have been shown to increase the seriousness of the virus on people one would expect the number to be somewhat lower if they were based on Americans... Then of course you have the fact that we have no clue how many Americans are actually infected since these numbers are only based on people that were showin enough symptoms to seek medical treatment, the ones that had such minor symptoms that they didn't bother to go to a doctor don't get factored in which means against the real numbers are somewhat lower.

I don't think it will turn out to be as mild as the flu, but I don't expect the final mortality rates to be as high as the ones they have at the moment.

So, why doesn’t the VP say it, unprompted? If the media is so terrible, why wait for them?

Interesting graphic showing the spread of the virus across the world from Jan 23 through to mid march:

I agree. The numbers in the US are skewed due to political theatrics / lack of testing. For similar reasons, I don't trust any numbers coming out of China. But we work with what we have.

Exactly!!!!

I keep saying this. I feel like everyone is just blindly hysterical because they’re told to be hysterical. The media is basically useless right now. I turned it off in disgust today, and can’t even bring myself to turn on any so-called news channel at this point.. and I’m someone who watches a lot of cable news.

It’s just all too surreal.

Give us REAL DATA.
