This appears to be a problem for each individual hospital- or even company - to solve, and most of us would have no way of knowing what plans have been put in place, unless we are, or know, an employee.

So to ask if someone is sure that nothing has been put in place is a question that can't really be answered - unless someone in the healthcare field, who also needs daycare, responds. And even then it would only apply to his/her specific situation, not across the board nationally.
most hospital Emergency Operations Plans address issues of not only childcare but pet care for staff.

I constantly thank the lord we have our PhD economists and infectious disease experts on this board to alert me as to why the economy is destroyed and how serious this is.

I disagree with you on the media. People should be reading more news at times like this, not less. The better-established and more reputable outlets are still quality sources of reliable information, much of which has been relayed in this thread.
I do read the major news outlets - I come here first specifically because of what I bolded above. I use what I see here to determine my Google search parameters. I've been listening to most of the live-streamed announcements from officials including the president on down to our local news channels. I avoid actually WATCHING the live-streams because the comment feeds that accompany them are downright disgusting and full of misinformation.

Let's also not forget that the media has been very irresponsible in regards to this whole thing and using it as a means to express political opinions.

Nobody wants them. They can be rejected until they go through the process of declaring a maritime emergency. Then based on maritime law once they have completed the process, the closest port must accept them. It's something like that.
Yeah... but... the British government was taking an active role in finding a port. The BVI is British Territory and not a commonwealth like the Bahamas. You'd think they'd have sway over the island the Crown owns.

It is almost impossible to keep such a broad topic as this strictly on track to WDW. Especially now that we know the short term future of the parks.

If you want pure straight info on WDW, just stay tuned to the front page of www.wdwmagic.com or this thread https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/coronavirus-covid-19-walt-disney-world-operating-status.963821/
Thanks for keeping us up to date on the main page. :)

I also love the monorail trip through EPCOT Future World video. Reminds us that there are lots of good things to look forward to once we get through this crisis.

RNs that I know work their regular 3 day week, 13 hour days. No issues regarding childcare or pet care because they have arranged that pre-corona.

George,

You do realize that only 0.4% of the population has been tested in Korea.
I’ll be done relitigating the past after this, but for something like this 0.4% is an incredible number. You know where things are concentrated. You know where to be careful. And you can flatten the curve which is important for things like respirator availability. We will be at that point eventually, but the 400,000 tests offered would’ve helped tremendously. We would’ve probably got 100,000 which would have put us near having enough to get everyone tested who was sick and the doctor called for a test. It would’ve lessened the economic impact because we’d have a much clearer idea of which parts of the country have serious outbreaks. We would not have gotten all the tests because Germany quit exporting corona related medical supplies a couple of weeks ago (really ed off Switzerland. They had ordered a ton of tests and respirators and now none are coming).

I’m not mad. I’m sure if we got together in RL we’d have a good time. In fact, you can quote me and insult me from here on out (on this topic) and I’ll ignore it.

It’s not spreading by simply standing or sitting within 6ft of someone. Like most other virus, the biggest way to contract it is by TOUCHING something which was touched by someone else, and then touching your face prior to washing your hands.

Actually, the CDC reports that the virus is transmitted mainly through respiratory droplets in the air. Yes, they can settle and that’s where touching/washing comes in, but please be careful with asserting something as fact. Social distancing is recommended for a REASON.

CDC - Facts about transmission

EDIT: Sorry, I see others already established this. Yes, touching/washing are critical, but are not the biggest form of transmission.

Correct. But that's still a very minuscule amount of the Korean population. And they have had it for a month longer so naturally they would have had more tests.
OK so I lied. Each country had the first reported case on January 20, 2020. You could argue that proximity to China means they should’ve been more concerned, but I would argue that this mis understands how these things work. No argument takes away from the fact we had the opportunity to test and take this seriously much sooner and every epidemiologist I know called for this. Now I’m done. You post too fast.

I guess the silver lining is that everybody has now forgotten about the skyliner getting stuck, a jungle cruise boat sinking, the HM being shutdown, and the crash on Wedway. So there's that.
I remember. It all started when a bean-counter was put in charge. Time to get the torches and pitchforks and head for his house, keeping a respectable 6ft distance from fellow rioters, of course. What is this, the middle ages?

Yes, I misspoke that it’s the main way. I should have said “the other way is..”..the point of the post still remains the same though.

I changed it just now out of frustration. Why it should remain in WDW News and Rumors is beyond me.

Sadly, I see this as similar to the 9/11 thread. I believe it was originally in news and rumors but I’m not sure. Someday, we’ll all reflect on this each year and hopefully look back from a vantage point of this no longer being something scary or life changing. That thread is a bit of a time capsule, and I expect this will be the same.

As others have mentioned, just look how much has changed since your first post...

Seeing that they are doing limited interaction with face characters during charcter dining.. I can't imagine how it will all turn out..

Most staff at hospitals are not RN’s.
..and most can not just move shifts around. Americans still have other medical issues and surgeries needed outside of COVID-19. The majority can’t schedule a surgery or treatment at midnight ;)

I’m still trying to figure out his comment about childcare, though. RN or not. Hoping to get an answer,@Lilofan
