We need to get on message here. Every day could still cost lives and (the deeper reason to most) billions of dollars.

So the vaccines look like they’ll work...let’s get this all under control. Across the board.

You want to go to Disney? Shut up and mask up for 6 months. Over the winter. This is not a mountain that can’t be climbed.
Or you could mask up and go to WDW right now...

In the Parks
No
And why would I do that? Did they add anything? Are there good prices/values? Do I have to take a bunch of extra precautions/jump through hoops? Is the public health management better yet?

...is this the part where I pass Go and save $200?
In September it was worth every penny for the incredible day I had at Epcot. The only offering that wasn't available were the fireworks, but lets be honest, they weren't anything to write home about anyway since RoE left us.

Fast forward to today, I'm fairly sure with the crowds coming back, that I wouldn't have a good time or could justify the expense.

Yea, I went to AK back in October, and it wasn't the best. Places closed, lines up the wall, things blocked off... (look, all I wanted to do was walk through the cool dino statues outside of dinosaur Ok? is that to much to ask?!)

While Im glad they're open... I won't be back for a bit. I don't want to "spoil" some of my past memories.... at least they're trying though and I do feel "safer" when I was there then when I go into my local Walmart or grocery store. They really do a good job IMO

It still wouldn't be a good thing from the standpoint of mental health but I would be able to stomach it if the businesses were made whole. Not just keep them alive but the owners should earn profit as well (not 100% pre-covid because even without restrictions revenue would be lower). Basically the same theory as eminent domain. The government is essentially taking temporary ownership of the business by forcing closure so the owners should get fair market value for that "lease."

That goes for businesses that are open but can't possibly bring in the same revenue due to capacity limits also. They should be made whole if it is mandatory.

The 2 trillion that was passed a few months ago didn't even come close to that level of compensation. While the government could borrow a ton more I think the next generation will suffer greatly by the increase in debt it would take to do what I just suggested above.
We are in agreement here... I don’t think there is any perfect solution

I wish I could like this 1000 times

They have been in the arrangement in two northeastern blocks since the spring...the problem is the raw math is growing and it’s making the choices more difficult to do as a collective.

Unfortunately...the people reap what they have sown in 2018. Never double down on following a clown. (Or triple down...but you got bailed out of that)
Not all of us voted for him lol

maybe summer 😂
Not funny....I remember back in June once they set an opening date in one of the other threads people were killing that guy who said that DLR wouldn’t be open in 2020. I guess it turns out he was actually right. :(

I did see they are opening the Grand Californian Villas on December 6 with no onsite dining and only the smaller pool near the DVC wing open. I wonder if that plan gets delayed now if the dining venues at Downtown Disney get closed down again. I can’t see allowing guests to stay there if there are no dining options in walking distance. It’s possible but really not ideal. There are only 48 villas so not a huge number of people but the studios don’t have a full kitchen so unless people want to go back to their car and drive out for food it’s not going to be easy to plan meals.

Nervous laughter, of the unexpected. Ive long predicted mid/late 2021 opening. I wonder if the DCA/Knotts berry farm events get modified too.

I wish this was one time you were wrong :( They definitely shouldn‘t open now with cases surging but it’s crazy to think it will be closed for a whole year potentially. Remember in March people saying they would never keep the parks closed until Easter and Spring Break.

Remember in March when everybody thought people would act like grownups?
