Hopefully Disney will be watching closely to see how guests behave, and if all goes well, they might consider bringing at least one show back.
You think guest behavior is why we will or won’t have fireworks? ($$$$).

Now hopefully when Universal AND Sea World start doing night time shows Disney will at least give us Epcot forever or something for the holiday seasons.

I do think they are going to watch and see how it goes. If there are masses of people without good distancing and/or good mask compliance then they will be less likely to want to bring fireworks or other large crowd shows back to WDW. Money is another factor. If they aren’t getting more tourists back in those hotel rooms it may be bare bones on spending for a while.

Would it be a crazy idea to offer some sort of fireworks shows but restrict lower level AP holders to keep crowds down. I’m sure it would anger some, but could be a way to entice more of the tourist crowd back without drawing too large a crowd and resulting in bad PR (especially while they fight the government in CA to open DLR).

Aren’t guests crowding around the parade floats when they come out at Mk?

Has there been an issue with masks and distancing at sea world for fireworks?

(Honest questions, I’m not there).

I bet if WDW does bring back nighttime shows, that will increase attendance and therefore more money coming in. One of the complaints right now is guests are paying a large amount and not getting their money’s worth and the full “Disney Experience” with entertainment. Nighttime shows have any always will be a big highlight for Disney.

But something returning for the holiday season or around January/February would be nice, with a bigger rollout for Spring if all goes well.

Regardless of the fireworks/show status, Gavin won’t change his dumbass mind.

I didn’t know they were doing regularly scheduled parades at MK. It seems like with parades and night shows they need to block off sections of Main Street needing to force people even closer together to get around the park. It seems difficult unless you just abandon the distancing thing which is a possibility.

We all know that Sea World isn’t WDW, especially now. If Disney brings back a night show it’s going to draw a large number of local AP holders as well as potentially tourists. It will get crowded fast. If you look at some of the pictures from just the parks now it looks a little crowded.

I think money drives the decision as well, but it’s not just a money thing. They are also trying to maintain an image of following the rules and being safe.

Somewhere I had read where crowding was an issue but that may have been when the Halloween floats first came out and bloggers were crowding?
That makes sense. I had read somewhere that although the cavalcades are randomly timed they change the music or something which can tip people in the know off that one is about to start. I do think it probably helps not to have people lining up for an EPCOT show at 9PM or MK fireworks at 10PM. Without a set time few people will just stand around waiting for one...bloggers are probably the exception.

Yeah, I can see MK being more of a problem, and also less necessary.

At 25% capacity I don’t see how crowding around world showcase would be an issue. I mean some viewing areas would fill up but then you just send people to another area.

Waiting for fireworks 6’ apart isn’t any different than waiting for anything else 6’ apart is it?

for those CM that work at the parks, quick question, how many people does disney really kick people out of the parks not following the mask guideline, is it bad enough to let people without same day reservations in the parks?

I'm not a CM but I was there the last two days. At MK a couple was walking and eating dole whip. A photographer went over and told them they couldn't be walking without mask and they just put it on and went off to the side to eat. It isn't an instant ejection thing.

On jungle cruise our captain motioned to a guest to pull it over his nose. Again, the guest did it and there was no consequence.

Is imagine you aren't getting kicked out unless your fight with the CM or just blatantly walk around with no face covering.

I’ve never even seen them kick people out for smoking.

Good to know they are Photopass photographers around Still, I am on the fence about buying the whole photopass as a whole for the time being but

I have been reading horror stories about parents and kids that take off their masks and parents defending theirs kids not wearing them properly like toddlers 2-3 years for example and getting escorted out of the park, supposedly it happens a lot, then someone said that they are letting people in without making reservations.

I was doing research about kids and mask at disney and stumbled about parents complaining a lot, actually about getting kicked off to be honest for their kids not wearing them properly. I like to train my kids a month to make habits out of it for example, like standing and walking around for 10 hours a day, and wearing their mask all day just for this but oh my gosh, it’s badddd for what i have seen online, I was just curious. Thank you!!!

I can only speak for what I've seen but I haven't seen more than a handful of very young kids not wearing a mask properly. I think I've gone on 9 days since reopening and been at each park at least once.

I haven't witnessed a single person getting kicked out nor seen anybody not fix a compliance issue with a "soft" reminder from a CM. I have heard snarky comments made when CMs make mask reminder announcements but the people making the comments still comply with the policy.

Here's an example of the random pop-up Halloween float.

I wish I took more photos but we passed these several times throughout the day. Each time, there wasn't much of crowd other than those who happened to be walking on the pathway at the moment.

Thanks! That’s very helpful. Clearly it’s not an issue. Looks like the candy store is more popular than the float!
