I don't want to be a downer, but I wouldn't call a mortality improvement form 15.2% to 11.4% a breakthrough (with 25% of patients having adverse side effects). It's better than nothing, though.
This thread is interesting for a layperson like me.

"Benefit seems limited to patients on supplemental oxygen (but not ventilated)"

This is good for people who are able to get prompt medical care.

I'm not sure it's a game changer as far as the general public feeling carefree about things like traveling.

SARS and the Spanish Flu are not longer a problem, why do you think this one is different?
SARS-CoV-1 seems to have thankfully mutated itself into extinction, but H1N1 (Spanish flu) still haunts us from time to time:

Time has yet to tell what will happen with SARS-CoV-2. Maybe one bit of hope is that unlike influenza, migratory birds don't seem to carry COVID-19. So in theory, if we get the numbers low enough through vaccination and proper containment of outbreaks, it might become something more like measles. Not erradicated, but rare enough to make preventing, identifying and containing outbreaks much easier.

It's not just the people with financial hardship. I have the financial means to go to Disney right now, but won't do it until the virus is more under control.
And those of us who have recently gone or plan to go to Walt Disney World again thank you for it. :)

I have confidence in corporate Disney to keep in place policies and procedures that keep me reasonably safe...

Because it's in their financial interest to do so.

News of a major COVID-19 outbreak traceable to Walt Disney World would have a devastating effect on business.

From my very limited experience (a 4-night onsite stay 1 week ago), Disney's Hollywood Studios was the only park where I felt uncomfortable with the crowds. As WDW's physically smallest park, it doesn't have the space for large crowds.

I felt comfortable entering all 4 parks with the socially distanced lines and appreciated the temperature checks, although we intentionally avoided park opening, except for Disney's Hollywood Studios, where it was necessitated by ROTR.

The outdoor walkways were spacious enough to handle the crowds at all but DHS.

Social distancing was observed in lines for all attractions, and the Guests I encountered in these queues respected the 6-foot spacing and consistently wore their masks.

Whether indoor or outdoor, I felt I had plenty of space between me and the next Guest while dining.

Disney's hotels and pools were great, with lots of physical separation and extra cleaning.

Disney made sure that hand sanitizer was readily available all over the place.

My point?

It's completely reasonable to defer trips to WDW until COVID-19 is under control.

But it's also reasonable to believe that Disney is, at least for the moment, making their theme parks and hotels as safe as possible under the current circumstances.

I'm returning to Walt Disney World in 5 weeks. I'll be sure to post if the situation has changed.

IF Gilead has the doses manufactured and IF this is expandable to the general population, this may be the therapeutic breakthrough we've been hoping for. NIH backed trial showing early Remdesivir treatment greatly improved course of disease for those in moderate cases requiring oxygen therapy.
I realize it's an infusion and would probably eat up a fair number of hospital beds from those that would have otherwise been discharged (we don't all have an infusion suite in the west wing of our house), but if case mortality drops significantly between now and a vaccine rollout, MAYBE we can move the goalposts just a little bit.

Did anyone else have a slight "this has got to be a joke post" after the 2nd word

Cold generally preserves viruses; also when we get stressed by cold then we are more likely to become ill. Until we get an effective vaccine I believe that this virus will be unstoppable. I do expect us to reach herd immunity (immunity from dying from it - we're going to continue to catch it), but it's never going to go away. And that's going to have to be okay.
I wasn’t really serious about the cold killing it.

I don’t disagree with the rest of your statement. The best thing we can do right now is hold the line, keep cases as under control as possible (wear masks, social distance, avoid crowds especially indoors) and hope that a vaccine gives us a way out much sooner than natural herd immunity would take. The Spanish flu pandemic eventually ended but it took multiple years and tens of millions of deaths. Nobody wants that. Covid may go the way of SARS eventually or it may be like H1N1 and come back from time to time or it may be like the measles or polio or something that is effectively gone through vaccination. Too soon to tell that. Anyone claiming they know what is going to happen with Covid just has an agenda and is presenting their wishes as fact to guide current reaction. All we can do is wait this out and trust the science. They will eventually figure it out.

"New signage has been spotted in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World that reminds guests that they will be kicked out of the theme parks if they don’t follow the face mask policy.

Not only will not wearing a mask at all result in a Cast Member asking you to put one on, but the improper use of a mask is also grounds for eviction from the park. Improper use could be anything from having your nose exposed to walking and eating or drinking."

Businesses around the rest of the US should really be following Disney's lead on this.

Agreed. I think Disney will come out of this looking really good. The gold standard others will point to. I don’t want to go back right now but not because I don’t think Disney is being safe.

Is this resulting from the Governors new statements? Or was it already an issue?

Here's the response from Dr. Pino (Orange County DOH) when asked about cases linked/traced to theme parks in FL today at a COVID-19 update -

And Orlando has a very special DC official still recovering from covid visiting this upcoming Monday afternoon!

Just a guess, I think Disney is just improving on their (already successful) process and procedures. There was probably a lot of complaints of folks wearing masks incorrectly and it’s good to see Disney clearly states you will be asked to leave if not properly wearing masks. Good job WDW!
