My husband got the word today he should be keeping his job. He’s relieved and at the same time devastated for some of his coworkers. I tend to be selfish when it comes to my family (aka I was more worried about our situation than everyone else’s) but right now? I am just sickened by all the lay offs that happened today. Everyone has a story. Everyone has their own personal need for their job. Am I 100% sure this could have been prevented? No. I’m not a psychic. Do I *think* with better leadership that we could have swiftly shut down across the board (instead of letting the states decide individually) and opened uniformly and slowly... and avoided these massive losses of jobs? Yeah I do. The problem is the extended nature of these closures and lack of normalcy. If we had acted swiftly and timely ... from when our leaders knew of this and down played it.... I don’t think we’d be in this bad of a situation.

I have. Here is something from W.H.O. that says otherwise.

The W.H.O. once said it didn't spread human to human so I'd trust other organizations.

There were experiments done by the CDC which showed how sunlight shortened the duration that the virus was active. While it doesn't "kill" it, sunlight will reduce the amount of time it can infect somebody.

Countries that quickly shut down have the same or worse economic issues and some are having virus resurgence recently after reopening.

at least trump is cured and feeling great
If the monoclonal antibody treatment is the reason, that could be a game changer.

I don't know if it is or not but they were reporting good results from the phase 1 trial.

If the duration and severity could be reduced in a significant percentage of symptomatic patients then this disease could be treated like others, after it is contracted, instead of doing all kinds of things to prevent infections.

It's more likely the fact that he is healthy and had a mild case. 95%+ of people his age recover. I've taken care of several people his age that were in and out of the hospital in just a few days, and of course most people his age don't have to be hospitalized at all. If he wasn't POTUS he wouldn't have met the criteria for an admission.

Please source what you post to something that represents the scientific consensus rather than the musing of 'experts.'

Remember the two California doctors who said the pandemic is practically over because they discovered the majority of people were already exposed to the virus? They're doctors! They're experts!! They were also very very wrong because they based their sample on the sick people who came to their clinic.

Remember the doctor who said hydroxychloroquine significantly helped people in danger of death from COVID? He's a doctor treating COVID patients. He's an expert!! He was also wrong.

So, when an expert says that Vitamin D helps people with Vitamin D deficiency fight off COVID, well... no duh. I but Vitamin C helps people with Vitamin C deficiency fight off COVID. And Vitamin A helps people with Vitamin A deficiency fight off COVID.

Wait until the CDC starts recommending Vitamin D before it's clear that helps fight off COVID for people who don't already have a Vitamin D deficiency.

UV light is shown to kill the virus no?
UV-C, yes.

That's the UV light used for sterilization in air systems and UV sanitizers.

However, sunlight has almost no UV-C, it is filtered out by the atmosphere.

UV-A and UV-B can stimulate the skin to produce Vitamin D, which helps people who don't get enough Vitamin D in their diet. Not having enough Vitamin D can make one weak and ill (and lead to Rickets). Being weak and ill can make fighting off any infection difficult.

UV-C is electromagnetic radiation that literally destroys viruses. It also destroys cells and can burn your skin rather quickly.
