they are floating Petri dishes, even before covid. That will be the last thing that gets approved for reopening.
If you feel that way I would suggest never cruising. I hope a lot of people feel that way. With so many ships going to the scrap yard I'm afraid prices are going to be high. Bookings for 2021 are apparently solid.

You know what's funny?
There are multiple people with goofy avatars, but none as charming and witty as me  It makes sense since we all know Goofy is the star of the show and that pair of cheese eating rats just steal his spotlight.

Sorry for the distraction...carry on with the doom and gloom vs Covid denial
I just wanna cruise. :p

The reopening of cruises has already started. It will be a slow process but it isn’t really dependent on how the reopening is handled on land and in cities.
From what I've read it's been successful. I'm not sure how many people are going to want to cruise with those restrictions. It should be interesting to see.

Yeah. The restrictions will make plenty hesitate. But the cruise lines have to start somewhere.

I have actually confused you with another Goofy-avatared user! (But don't tell, you're my favorite!)
I'm not trying to spread doom or gloom. Just looking for good discussion!

The pp has been very oppossed to WDW opening and adament that they would close down again. So no I'm not surprised she doesn't think cruising will resume for a year. She could be right, but I don't think so.
Don't these discussion boards sometimes lead us to believe that we know other posters well enough to make comments like these?

Exactly right. I think you get to know people who are joking and give them a pass. Those that are sarcastic but will follow up respectfully when you ask what they meant. Then there are those that just seem to be nasty and attack for attack sake. By reading this thread especially, you can figure who is who pretty quickly.
Everyone will disagree with everyone at some point. It’s how you handle the ensuing conversation is what separates most.

I'm sure if you go back a few hundred pages you'll see that. At this point I think we know where everyone stands on certain issues. We are at 1916 pages.

Really hope my was May now March Fantasy Eastern is a go, but I see it more as a bottleneck of moving parts than a safety in cruising problem. Restaffing and stocking ships, international acceptance of “us” (let’s face it, the media has displayed us at our worst no matter the outlet), repurposing certain areas like buffets (may be happening in France now), getting CDC approval of any return plans, and deciding which staterooms to cancel if over any capacity restriction. It’s a lot to sift through, and by nature of the beast may take the better part of a year from initial closure.
All that said, if there were a 4-night CC double dip “Petri dish” experiment cruise leaving this Friday, I’d be first in line!

I'd be second in line. The restaffing issue seems complicated, but I'm sure they have a plan. They are just not sharing it with us.

100%. We’ll be last to know, but I have no doubts the gears are moving in some fashion (even if on paper only right now)

I love your honesty...now If chef would admit he’ll melt like the witch of the west if he can’t stalk lake buena vista everyday...we’d really be getting somewhere...
My November cruise was just cancelled. I’m looking at a couple in February. One on the wonder and another on the magic.
Did they extend out the cancellations? Figured they would soon...

Desantis is about to cancel my November trip to Orlando...any day now.
