I don’t get the hospitalization number. Is that all people currently in the hospital or overall that were in side the beginning?
I believe it's overall since the beginning

Alright. That makes more sense then.I believe it's overall since the beginning
I would assume like the deaths it’s a running count. 6% of all cases ending up in the hospital seems about right. I know in some places they list total hospitalized and also total currently in the hospital which is probably more useful if considering hospital capacity. Each state is different.
CMs testing positive in general is no big deal and should be expected. If the part of the story about Covid positive workers being called into work is really happening it’s certainly newsworthy. I have some doubts that’s true and if so is certainly not a company policy, it’s a screw up by a manager somewhere. There’s no shortage of workers. Disney would never want to take the risk of something like that leaking. They are bending over backwards to at least appear safe and there’s a pretty big cost to that in both extra expense as well as potential lost revenues. Those email messages are from Disney. They are warning you of the risk, but they're not notifying you whether they are calling COVID-positive CMs to work (as is being alleged by DL CMs in The Daily Beast article).
Nobody thinks Disney CMs are immune to the risks of exposure. They may not realize that CMs are concerned that Disney isn't uniformly enforcing its own policies for CMs. No one is saying you (or anyone) should be "shocked" or "surprised" by this. It is simply more information than many of us have, so it's news.
Right. And the article is NOT saying that Disney is, in fact, calling known positives back to work. It's saying that some CMs are claiming that this is happening. What can't people understand this?CMs testing positive in general is no big deal and should be expected. I would never want you in charge of anything.
I think people do understand, but possibly see less newsworthiness in an article reporting what some CMs are claiming is happening, especially when those CMs expressly state that their goal is to force Disney to close. Others may attach more significance to it; it's a judgment call.Right. And the article is NOT saying that Disney is, in fact, calling known positives back to work. I totally agree that IF this is happening, Disney does not want it to happen (they especially do not want this information to leak)!
The sooner the better.Pretty good news, IMO:
Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine could be ready for approval by mid-October -- but there are still 'unknowns'
Pfizer and BioNTech are confident they can have a vaccine against the novel coronavirus ready for regulatory approval by the middle of October or early November, BioNTech CEO and co-founder Ugur Sahin told CNN Tuesday.www.cnn.com

Loosening the purse strings on capex just in time for the potential change to the Hall of Presidents come JanuarySo, with the removal the the sign of the Little Mermaid stage show in DHS, whose building is rumored to become a black box ('easily' rethemed C-Ticket dark ride), and, with all the other construction projects now moving full steam ahead (the ones that weren't canceled)...
Do y'all think that Disney is confident that there's a late 2020 / early 2021 vaccine, and then, by Spring Break, there will be no more COVID protocols?
After all, we know Disney has enough cash and borrowed cash to weather a pandemic for two years. But with it being likely that it only needs to last six more months, they're confidently opening up the capex spigot?
As I look at what the vaccine situation is, I'm becoming very optimistic. Is Disney now also running on that optimism? Did they just approve the Black Box based on that optimism rather than let Little Mermaid sit empty forever like many other closed attractions (looking at you, Stitch)?
Is the Marry Poppins thing in EPCOT dead?
Go' res' 'er sou', Guvnah!
Point taken, although we are already creating millions of doses of several options in anticipation of them working and rolling out. Hundreds of millions I believe.People still need to realize that once a vaccine is out it's going to take 8-10 months to be able to produce 750 Million doses of the vaccine we will still be in the social distancing and face masks well into the summer. We can expect to see limited capacity most of 2021.

With all the data, stats and experience gathered to date about COVID19 one things is for sure, and that is vast numbers of people do not want to just exist but want to live. Vaccine or no there will be spring break activity, it may not be as in the past, but there will be a spring break.Experts have already said they will be able to have some for front line workers but for the rest of the public it's going to be well into the summer before enough are available. Plus the other big thing is how will they distribute the vaccine this has not even been worked out. No way Spring Break will happen. Several companies are working on the vaccine but they need to provide it for the world and not just the US. Even the task force again today said late summer into the fall.
We can pretty much kiss 2021 goodbye and hope 2022 is a great year.
