You know what's funny?
Thank you?

Is the point here to declare, “Well, there’s absolutely no way we can make an educated assumption about what the pandemic might do, evidence is simply too confusing, so we might as well do what I want to do, which is pretend nothing is happening”?
Point was we can look at whatever data set we want. And interpret it. And then debate if we want. But we don’t make any final decisions based on this information. Maybe you misinterpreted my tone?

And some people were giving me a hard time about picking August 1 as my date to review what the previous 6 weeks actually looked like.

Think for yourselfer
Why do you always go to personal attacks???
Give me a break. Read the room, a poster asked a question, I posted the actual answer. I didn’t infer anything from it, I didn’t make any declarative statements. And I’ve been relentlessly attacked. That’s mental illness.

If I had the time I’d do the same. Accurate numbers are my life. Doesn’t take a lot mistakes to run a business into the ground. Luckily? Unluckily? The public sector can make mistakes till the cows come home.
Yup, if recent history has taught us anything, it’s that there is never any negative impact when the public sector makes mistakes.

in the past two days you called someone a nut job, rudely told me to go wear my mask, and you just told this poster they have some sort of form of dementia. No one has called you anything, all people have done is counter you claims.

I "get" the people who say overall 1% of America will die from this virus.

Let's just do what we can, stop looking at the numbers, and move forward, hope for the best.

I disagree with that, but I "get" it.

What I don't get is the stance that nothing bad is happening and trying to downplay the whole deal.

Trying to undercut every number with some fringe articles and new points of data every day.

I just can't come around to that.

You never answered the question of the chart’s source. And you haven’t explained what point you think it makes.

So in the midst of a raging pandemic, how long do you suggest we wait to make decisions? A couple months? A year?

I just can't come around to that.

There's seems to be a belief that pretending everything is fine will make everything go back to the way it was ASAP, but we know that's not going to happen. The impact of the pandemic is real and will be felt for some time, and even if some governments don't take this seriously, other private businesses will (or vice versa). It's just venting at this point.
