You are comparing a good contract tracing system to being a rule in whatever country it is? I may have this wrong but what I got from that was.. it’s China and since it is, we shouldn’t follow their lead even if it is better then we have done? Explain to me like I’m a 5 year old. If I’m mistaken I apologize.

no , it is just much much easier to implement, due to lack of citizen rights.

Yes china was extreme in some of their efforts, but Spain and Italy were successful in their lockdown mitigation efforts, and they don't have the citizen restrictions that china has.

I agree with this. We fixate on WDW here for obvious reasons. Purely anecdotal, but so far every person I have told that I cancelled my WDW trip in August has either said good call because they wouldn’t fly anywhere and/or they wouldn’t think about going to a place like WDW with all the crowds. The beach and national parks may end up being more popular than ever this year. Most people have no clue about capacity limits or safety plans at WDW. They just picture what it was like the last time they were there with the crowds and lines and think no way would I want to do that now.

Exactly. Most people have no opinion or think of Disney as it was before covid. They aren't considering or caring that an entire task force was dedicated to making it safe. I feel bad for Disney in a way because negativity travels fast even though they are being more responsible than some places that have been open all along.

I don’t know anybody that goes to WDW covid or no covid. Everyone I work has vacation plans mostly involving a beach.

Disney could delay opening, but it wouldn’t change anything. Covid will still be here and people will just find other ways to congregate. All the other theme parks are open and they are not closing.

Latest on Houston's hospital capacity for those that are concerned from previous posts

Dr. Marc Boom, of Houston Methodist, said those numbers don’t fully tell the capacity story.

“Just that number is being misinterpreted and, quite frankly, we’re concerned that there is a level of alarm in the community that is unwarranted right now,” Boom said.

Again, the OP was talking about contract tracing. That’s not a rule. It’s a tool that’s being used very effectively for them, but the response to the OP made no sense.
Yes it is a tool but I believe and I know you will correct me if I am wrong but it's mandatory for their citizens to be a part of this. Hence where the "rule" comment came in.

As others pointed out months ago everyone will get this due to it being so contagious. Either through natural spread or vaccines. Not downplaying anything. Just pointing out that the best strategy is keeping the numbers manageable until herd immunity is achieved or vaccine proves viable enough.

It would be nice if the virus just died off but this seems less likely. Not because we could lock things down enough. But rather it is too easily spread to hope to contain. Just reality.

Please cite the Epidemiological source that is the foundation for forming this opinion. Or is it just an opinion which may or may not be taken seriously by others?

You know what's funny?
and now the virus has almost been defeated in Spain. Its sad what happened, but they took control and are hopefully going to be able to reboot everything.

yeah. Now. After all sorts of death. Is that the trade you want to make? Have a death rate like that? My real point is there were probably better countries you could have called out to make your point.

my point is not the trade. my point is recognizing there's a BIG problem and doing something about it before it gets worse. Spain ,Italy, many places suffered great tragedy, but its what countries do to end the tragedy that matters.
