Thick blood has been known for a while.
Yup been lots of reports of it here in the UK with nurses being shocked at how thick peoples blood was.

Some more sources:

"More than 25% of patients have significant clots and this is a real problem." And the stickier the blood, the bigger the problem.

“It’s very striking how much this disease causes clots to form,” Dr. J Mocco, a Mount Sinai neurosurgeon, said in an interview

"The number of clotting problems I'm seeing in the ICU [intensive care unit], all related to COVID-19, is unprecedented," Dr. Jeffrey Laurence, a hematologist at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, told CNN.

the man developed a complication not usually associated with respiratory viruses: a blood clot in his leg that was so dangerous that doctors were forced to remove the leg below his knee

Important to note that this isn't a one-time thing only seen in one place, hence the list of quotes above. It's all from different cases so certainly not a one-off.

I wonder what the status is of canceled magic bands? I was refunded for mine but they're still showing in my account as being at our resort when we check-in end of August. Not able to choose 'new' ones. IF we still go, I wonder if we will still get our upgrades or if we will just end up getting solid colors?

I wonder if the parties ever ended:

Similarly, Ohio's median age has dropped from >80 to 48 in the past couple weeks. I guess that's a combination of expanded testing and perhaps the disease largely running its course in nursing homes.
That’s likely. It could also be a combination of a lot of younger people going out a lot more. People in the over 80 crowd (not in nursing homes) are probably still less likely to be at a restaurant, theme park or protest rally than someone in their 20s or 30s. They are being advised to continue social distancing since they are in the high risk group. It could also be a product of more testing. Since older people were more likely to have more severe symptoms they were also more likely to be tested early on. Now that some places have ramped up testing they may be hitting some of the asymptomatic people. Along those same lines it also depends whether the anti-body testing is included in the numbers or not. Many younger people who were asymptomatic never knew they were sick but are finding out now through anti-body tests. 3 of my co-workers in their 20s tested positive for anti-bodies but never had any symptoms. I think it varies by state and even by county in some cases on how they treat and report anit-body testing.

It's a societal virus with at any given time (depending on what study you read) 5% of the population is walking around with it and many are asymptomatic.

So you think there are 16 million people walking around the US with the virus right now? That’s nearly 8 times the number of confirmed cases since this all began.

At least in Florida, a contributor to the lower age is the outpatient procedures reopening and requiring a test before they can be done.

Do you have any stats on this? Certainly not the case everywhere in FL - my friend just had a knee replacement and was surprised when they didn't require her to have a COVID-19 test first.

Not sure about thick blood. Never heard of that. But the other symptoms may also be caused by severe stress. It is going to be some time before they sort out the causes specifically.
They are doing a study in the UK to look at whether minor COVID cases are leading to an increase in diabetes in people previously healthy. Concerns are that the pancreas is being attacked and affecting people's ability to regulate insulin.

As a parent with an upcoming freshman in college I am really impressed with how her school is handling on class campus in the Fall. Right now no mask in dorm rooms or dorms if social distancing can be maintained and the room occupancy is not changing. Mask only in classes if social distancing can't be done. No mask outside or in recreational facilities. Contract tracing is op in only but mandatory testing for all students prior to classes starting and than random testing throughout the semester for students who live on campus. Sorority recruitment will be first two rounds virtually and last two in person. Bid day will also be in person but parents will not be allowed inside chapter houses. Students leave at Thanksgiving and do not return to campus until Jan. Not that any of this has anything to do with Disney. :)
Hmmmm....should I?

Oh why not...

1. Where?
2. I hope they are going to do an excellent job. Nobody wants more virus flares
3. Social distancing is kinda anathema to the college experience...unless I didn’t read the brochures right. That is why it may be a hard road. But again...that’s why it could be a feeling out process.
4. Until there is a “herd immunity”...sororities should be banned. Why in the hell would that type of unnecessary endeavor even be considered? There will be a time...and maybe even soon.

And just so you don’t think I’m an old cranky goat...I was a student body President at a Power Five conference school...and was on a bunch of planing boards, had access to pretty much every social and business/networking scene. There weren’t enough hours in the day...

It was just along time ago...so I wasn’t always a cranky old goat 😎

The one and only time I say this is because I get it...but they’re still gonna have to probably move to the more conservative end of The social spectrum for the time being.

I actually have a Batman costume from the 1989 Batman movie that I wear occasionally for birthday parties etc. It is super hot hot hot. I also currently wear a cloth mask covering mouth and nostrils any time I go out in public spaces. I can honestly say wearing a mask to prevent covid-19 is much more comfortable, but not nearly as much fun.
...believe it or not...so do I 😂
Thanks for the recommendation, do you know if they are as effective as the surgical masks?

EDIT: Nevermind I found this disclaimer at the bottom of their website.

Just avoid the km-95....which many stores are selling at a premium...

The reality is those are not approved by the CDC/nist use in the US...they are listed as “acceptable” for use overseas by the CDC.

So be aware of what we’re importing to resell at a nice profit margin 👍🏻

Wish I did. Believe me. We know from personal experience here in Orange County and I now know 4 other people that were finally able to get in for procedures and they were all tested as well. Awesome question though!

1. A big SEC school .
2 . I hope they do too for various reasons but mainly because I want them back for the Winter/Spring semester.
3 . They will probably only social distance where they are forceed ( on campus) . I am sure fraternity /sorority parties / tailgating will all be done off campus now to circumvent the rules.
4. You might as well wear white after labor
Day and stab me in the heart and let me die rather than say such an awful thing. ;) Seriously though never happen someone/ something has to pay for those “mansions “ on campus and the national council /housing corporations can only sustain so long with the houses begin shut down.

Lovely...diabetes rates have increased five fold in 30 years already...so that’s exactly what the world needs 😳

Yep...I kinda figured

Big ten...by the way.

Just my take...but if you’re “social distancing” in college, you’re not becoming “your best you” 😉

And one more thing: “college program is not a good idea” (Disney 3:16)

And sororities just don’t make sense now...I’ll stand on that hill. And yes, I know that would impact the business of Lilly Pulitzer greatly...but still.🤔
