It‘s good to be positive but the numbers aren’t painting a great picture as the expected death rate will increase exponentially due to states opening to soon.

I'm glad you have a crystal ball to know what's too soon and what will happen to the death rates. I mean, Goergia was opening way too soon and was going to be a catastrophe.

Now, the data isn't all in and we'll have to see what happens in future weeks and months. bu we don't have to predict the sky is falling.

You know what's funny?
They don’t put the economy into the equation.
I would also note that the economy is made up of people. Real people. The people are the economy. So if leaders and decision makers do not consider the economy as at least part of the equation in some way(especially at this point), they are not considering the health and well being of the people outside of Covid. The virus is the priority but other pieces cannot just be ignored. Which is why these decisions today are not so black/white.

Noticed the weather in China is cool jacket weather with cast all wearing masks, not like summer like heat and humidity in Central Florida.
I saw that. Plus the people of China will obey the mask rule. Not so sure here. Masks will be difficult. Will be interesting to see if Disney requires them for guests or if they’ll hold off and open when they’re not required.

Gonna be tough on CMs too, but I guess they don’t have much of an option. For some roles it won’t be terrible, but I can’t imagine working in a hot kitchen or some of the outdoor jobs. I’m probably just “soft”. I remember thinking I couldn’t imagine how guys can do construction jobs in hard hats, long pants and work boots in the summer in Florida or Las Vegas too. It’s all what you get accustomed to. Because guests are only visiting for a short period of time and paying money to do it vs getting paid it’s a much tougher sell. They could just go with the recommended but not required plan as a compromise.

The correct way to open was by the CDC guidelines and our own government guidelines. Unfortunately most states are not listening to that and we can only hope things turn out ok.
I also like to look at things positively but I’m also not blind to the inconsistencies with what’s being said and what’s being done. Guidelines are there for a reason, because the people in the know, not us on the boards, think this is what’s best for all.

No. Most states are following the COVID task force phased guidelines. The CDC, for whatever reason had more strict guidelines. Yes those were looking at health but didn’t take into account economic recovery. We need both. The CDC jumped the gun if you ask me. We already have the task force guidelines. That’s enough.

Will we also see a return to clean shaven faces? A mask is much less effective with facial hair and it is scientifically proven that contagions are traped and harvested more with facial hair. If not, it reminds me that the mask deal is for show of effort and security blanket than enforcing anything for safety. Requiring clean shaved would be a proactive safety measure.

As for China. They have claimed to have this under a better control, are used to a densley populated smog riddled areas and have worked to get.to.this point three to four months ahead of what we in the US ha e had when this started.

You’re not soft. I find it difficult to wear a mask for half an hour while grocery shopping. I want to go to Disney Springs when it opens but I’m not sure I’d last real long with a mask. In my case it could be my asthma that makes it harder. I see people wearing sweaters in summer down here. Maybe if you’re a native Floridian you don’t get as hot? After six years of being here I still get super hot in the summer. When Disney opens people will decide if it’s worth it to come or not. If it was a once in a lifetime trip I’d wait. If it was an annual trip I might go purely out of curiosity how it will work. Right now all of us are living through a huge historical event. Going to Disney with masks is also making history.

We can agree to disagree. The task force is not close to enough in my opinion.

Great video on how they are going to start things. After seeing that I’m not going until this is all over for sure but that’s me.
I do have a question.. towards the end they were in a quick service, pick up your own meal place. The spots on the floor marked where you shouldn’t stand, then before and after that spot they had bigger areas for your group. If there’s a 4 or 5 person party in one spot and another in the next spot, looks like they will be about a foot or two apart. Am I correct or did I miss something?

I noticed a few inconsistencies on the recording where I thought people would be too close. I also noticed the VP touching the shoulder of a cast member 🙄. People are so used to being able to affectionately touch a friend. I thought the news people eye too close also.

This is why we have to take it slowly. All it takes is one person to start it all over again.

Night clubs? Those should open even after theme parks. The only person at a night club practicing social distancing is the guy who struck out picking up women at the bar;);)
