Hi all!

So i'm going through the "back from Disney" dull-drums. Last weekend I watched several Disney movies - Lady in the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, Bolt, and we went to see Up. And there is another one in there but I can't remember! And this weekend, still suffering from the "I was at the Magic Kingdom right now" two weeks ago syndrom...I needed a pick me up. I live on Hilton Head and there is a Disney Vacation Club resort. So we went there - and stopped at the mercantile - and went crazy! We are currently munching on Goody Candy Company gummies! And got Mickey Premium bars while we were there!! We picked up some other goodies too that we didn't get while we were there. I'm so bad!! I am in such a good mood now (and i'm pretty sure it was b/c I got my Disney fix, not b/c i'm on a sugar rush)! This may become a dangerous habit!!!

That's awsome!

I completely understand about have the post-disney trip funks. We are leaving for Disney in 10 days, but I am already concerned about the complete depression I will ultimately spiral into upon our return. I am starting to make a rough plan of some quick trips we will take when we get home, just to use as a distraction while I adjust to not being in my disney-planning mode. Pathetic. I so wish I had the opportunity like you to at least get a quick disney fix. We don't even have a disney store within a 3 hour radius:cry:!

I've done that before at the DVC there. It takes me a little over an hour to get to Hilton Head. I'll sometimes go to the island so I can swing by the DVC instead of heading to Savannah.

I would have to drive a great distance just to get my Disney fix, so far in fact that I may as well drive to Disney! I am so jealous.

Hi DisneyGirl!

I'm actually going to Hilton Head the weekend of July 17th (got a deal I couldn't refuse!!) and was wondering, if I don't belong to the DVC, can I still visit the resort just for the mercantile store? I need some Disney stuff to hold me off until my trip the week of Thanksgiving....so are us "non - DVC'rs" allowed to stop by???

I feel your pain. I watch Disney movies to get a fix as well. It got extreme before I went to audition a couple years back. But hey, whatever works! :p

But that's awesome that you can drive down to DVC- Hilton Head whenever you want!

Yes you can just pop on in!! We are not DVC members and said that we needed some reservation info and to go to the mercantile. They had no problem.

Well since we are on the subject of DVC properties, can anyone tell me if there is a DVC here in Colorado that I could journey to and have the same experience as the OP?

haha, i love it! the pain from returning from a disney trip is awful. After my honeymoon, I had to go to NYC for business & I spent hours in the Disney store on 5th avenue. It's gigantic & they had characters out. It was a good fix!

Nice fix having the resort on HHI too. In all my journey's there, I've never actually stopped. I will have to check it out next time I'm there.

We live in New York and it been a couple of years since I been to the WOD store in the city, so I took the kids today for a quick fix to hold us over until our trip in Aug. OMG how that store has changed. It has alot of stuff from the parks in there now I went nuts.:p  They even have a Trend D section :sohappy: I couldnt believe I had too put alot of stuff back, what would I bring back from DW if I buy it now.

A couple of things I've learned to do in order to deal with PDD (Post Disney Depression):

1.My wife always brings her laptop. She hooks it up to the TV at the resort and records things like the Must Sees at Disney, DVC info and Disney cartoons, and I'll watch those at night.

2.Have your next trip planned and if possible, booked. Makes it much easier.

Disney is the only place that I get post visit dulldrums. It's very peculiar.

Same story here! Heck, where I live they don't even have Disney movies at the video rental store... any videos we want to watch we have to own!

To deal with my PDD...

- I watch Disney movies, planning DVDs, and we have a PhotoPass movie as well from our trip in '07

- Plan the next trip

- Spend hours on WDWMagic doing just what I'm doing now!

- Read my Unofficial Guide... again!

- Look at my WDW souvenir books, postcards, pictures, etc.

- My husband bought me a digital picture frame and let me tell you it's a great gift for a Disney nut! I have an SD card with all my best WDW pics in it and we spend hours staring at the digital picture frame on the end table. It even entertains my kids - it's just as good as a movie. Great way to show off your pictures when company comes over as well!

- But the best way to deal with my PDD is knowing that I have the means to be able to go back to WDW. As a child, my parents didn't have a lot of money. They had to really save to be able to take us to WDW. When I left WDW I knew it would be a long time before I would be able to go back again. Well, it was a long time... it was 15 long years. And this time I was going back with a family of my own! Even though I hate leaving just as much as the next person, I'm not sad b/c I know I'm in a position that I can plan another trip and it's only a year away as opposed to 15 years away! So now when I say goodbye to WDW I smile b/c I know another trip is just around the corner... and that I'm really thankful for!

Isn't it funny how we disney fanatics begin to fear leaving WDW before we even get there? Do we need help?.............:ROFLOL:
