Love, love, love your trip reports.
I am thoroughly enjoying going through this with my 13 year old daughter.
She thinks A is awesome.

She was about Aโ€™s age in my profile pic. She outgrew her sparkle and unicorn phase around age 9.
She is currently a Potter freak and wants to be a lawyer so she can boss people about and put bad people in jail. ๐Ÿ˜‚

A really reminds me of the gems she used to spout. โค๏ธ

Currently our joint fave A-ism is the Mount Everest conversation about dead people. Classic.

Thank you for sharing your precious memories with us.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

Just an FYI. If you shave a tiger and a lion they are pretty much the same underneath the fur.
Plus under the skin as well. There was a series of animal dissections on the BBC a few years back focused on larger animals.

I am absolutely loving your TR!!! The dialog between A and the CM's at AK was so funny and cute! I'm going to have to remember what you said about the last seat on the safari ride! I think I would have had to ask for a room change with all that noise next door since I'm a light sleeper. Sorry you've had such a tough time with the meals at WDW this trip. It was kind of a pain with the mobile ordering in October and December but I did think most of the food was pretty decent when it came out. We did have sit down meals planned each day which helped too. Glad you're all having such a magical time together!

Of course we had to go on Triceratops Spin! When we got in line the ride had to be rebooted, so it was a few extra minutes of wait but really not bad. A spent that time having a dance party where she kept freezing in poses and demanding her picture be taken๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I thought taking pictures was for old people, and the new thing is livestream??

I love her Everest conversation...that's hilarious!

The Maharaja Jungle Trek is where I noticed my two favorite people were losing steam... I had left the stroller at the entrance because I didn't want to navigate the trail with it. Animal Kingdom was really crowded, and I had (rightfully) assumed the trail was kinda like a zoo with viewing areas, so I just didn't want to mess with it. A said no less than ten times "I wish I had my stroller..." And N started randomly just sitting down on any bench we saw ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ they needed a break. But since we were on the trail anyway, we were getting some more badges ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

The highlight of this trail is the aviary

There were all kinds of cool birds to look at, including this really big guy who surprised A while she was looking at a couple smaller birds
View attachment 528180

A instantly became an "expert" on this bird and started telling us all about it ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ see the hands?! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

After this, though, I found a little relaxation station on the outskirts of Harambe Market for N to rest and A to play with her new toy. There are only two more of these little doll sets she doesn't have. It's insane when I think about how much money we've spent on disney toys. She doesn't have the Moana I've or the Lilo and Stitch one, but she has all the others.

I'll admit, it was really nice to take off my mask and drink some water. I think perhaps that's the hardest part of masks at Disney, is that it's hard to drink enough water.

After a break, we went on safari. I'll be honest here, after feeling the impact of the plastic curtains on Frozen Ever After, I wasn't exactly excited about them on the Safari. I took a chance on the back row being the best option, and it paid off. Big time! We had so much more visual surface space and open air.

A decided that our new thing was to show off our magic bands for her "YouTube channel" ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ so we had to retake the picture...

Kids these days.... ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

As is tradition, I'll spare you a lot of the Safari pictures, but it was cool to see the "real" tree of life!!

We got stopped for a few minutes because the giraffes were having a grand old time hanging out in the middle of the road. It reminded me of India, where traffic on this busy highway was at a dead standstill and we were stuck in our hot little bits for almost an hour while a cow took a nap in the middle of the road.
View attachment 528187

Me: hey A, isn't it cool to see chickens on the Safari?!

A: those are giraffes, mom ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

Me: then how do you explain how they're crossing the road?!?

A: mom. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

N: see... Even she knows it's a bad joke ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

The tall one in the front has more reddish spots than the others. Her name is Stephanie. She came to say hi after finally getting out of our way ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Your chicken joke reminds me of this one time my husband was out playing Ingress with E and they came across a father and 2 little kids walking one of those really small miniature ponies. My husband says "Woah, that's a really big dog!" and he said the look on those kids' faces was hilarious and the dad was trying so hard not to laugh.

I was surprised at how close all the animals were to the truck on this Safari. They were all just hanging out by the road. Except the lions, they were asleep, the lazy bums ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
View attachment 528191

A: mom, you remember that song about the lions sleeping from my old ballet class?

Me: how could I forget ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ it was always stuck in my head for hours after class

A: well I don't think that singer knew a lot about lions...

Me: oh?

A: well lions sleep during the day. They're awake at night. That's when they hunt.

She might have a point ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ someone should have told the Tokens๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I know I'm biased here, but this kid is so pretty when she lets me pull her hair back. Normally she looks like a walking rats nest๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

We had one last badge stop and then it was time to go. And of course one more toy, too ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

This station was all about elephant poop and how you can make it into paper ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Now A keeps telling me she's going to eat a lot of hay so she can make poopy paper ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I think she found a second wind though, because the CM kept asking if she had any questions, and A kept making up questions. It felt like when you're meeting should be over, but the guy from IT who just likes to hear himself talk starts asking stupid questions that could have been an email... But I did learn a couple things I didn't know before.

A brought up that if you shave a tiger, you'll still know it's a tiger because it's skin is striped, but that tigers probably didn't like to be shaved. The CM was unwilling to try that one, anyway๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

She also asked the CM what the difference between painted dogs and hyenas was, and it turns out they're completely different. They just look similar, but hyenas aren't even in the dog realm.

The CM showed A a place in her book where she could make an impression with her pencil, but A told her she was already really good at making impressions.

CM: oh?? Can you show me?!

A: well I mainly make mine with my voice...

CM: okay, show me one...

A in a whiney voice: meh meh meeehhhhh, I'm mommy, blah blah blah clean your room, whomp whomp whomp feed the dog, meh meh meh meh meh I make all the rules...

CM: oh my ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Then we headed out. Animal Kingdom really is a pretty park

We got lucky and arrived at the bus stop only a couple minutes before our bus came, too!

View attachment 528198
A showing off her new friend to some new friends she met on the bus. I'll tell you what, being the introverted mom of an extrovert is exhausting.
OMG her "impressions"! I'm laughing so hard. Do you ever wonder what the CM is thinking during their interactions with her? You know there are a lot of CMs who also do vlogs and a common theme is "spilling the tea" about what it's really like to work at Disney. I wonder how many stories there are out there from a CM who met A.

Back at the fort, A insisted we go swimming
View attachment 528199

Her favorite pool game is for N to lay flat at the bottom of the pool and she gets to ride him like a surf board ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ then when he needs to breathe again and starts to stand up, she pretends a giant tidal wave came and washed her off. When she first made this game up, I told her no because it seemed a little dangerous, but N doesn't mind and you can't argue with these smiles

After showers we headed to the restaurant Maginos for dinner. They brought it the most delicious and perfectly cooked fried mushrooms I've ever had, so we were optimistic about dinner. But we shouldn't have been ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ we should know better this far into the trip ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

View attachment 528203

It looks delicious but it tasted like nothing. Not seasonings. Not butter. Not meat. I'm glad there were other things on the plate or I might I worried I had covid and lost my sense of taste ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

After dinner we stopped by the car so N could grab his pocket knife and do butt surgery. This is what A calls it when he cuts the tags off her stuffed animals butts ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ she's already told him that when we get back home he's going to bed to come over and perform butt surgery on all her stuffies there too ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

And then we watched a little tv, and listened to our neighbor lady yell at her kids some more, and went to sleep early.

With the mask rules, I've found myself having to choose between mask and sunglasses and is not really a choice. So I've forwent sunglasses so far, and when we sat down at Harambe Market I almost said I was so surprised I didn't have as headache yet from there bright sun and my stroke brain. I guess you don't have to actually say the thing to jinx yourself though๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ because shortly after that, a migraine started rolling in ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Early sleep was so necessary. So in went the ear plugs, and out went the sounds of little Addison and little Avery next door and their mom making magical memories.
Is the mask over sunglasses thing because the sunglasses fog up and you can't see? I have glasses and have discovered that if you pull the mask up enough for the glasses to rest on the top of the mask, they don't fog up as much. I also heard that you could rub the lenses with liquid soap and wipe it off rather than rinsing and that keeps the lenses from fogging, but I haven't tried that one.
