Trip Report **COMPLETED** A Boardwalk Babymoon

Hey guys! I have been back for awhile and to be honest I was not planning on writing a Trip Report because I have a lot going on right now. However, I was looking through all my pictures the other day feeling a little sad about not writing one. So...here we are! To be honest this was a long trip so this is probably going to take me forever to write (especially since I have a few trips coming up)

Ok...let's get down to it !

Who?
My Mom (Mary), my sister Jill and myself (Megan)
This is from our last trip together in Feb 2020

When?
May 20-30, 2021

Where?
Boardwalk Villas - staying on DVC points!

Why?
Jill and her husband Nick adopted a baby! If she is ok with it I will post a photo at some point of him. Funny enough we planned this trip before they got matched with a baby! They have been going through the adoption process for over a year and we thought it would give her a boost if we gifted her this trip! Literally like 2 weeks after we officially added her to the trip she got the call! It was perfect timing!! The baby was born just last week Also side note my Mom and I were supposed to be in Disneyland/on an Adventures by Disney tour this trip which is why it was so long

Day 1 - May 20, 2021
My Mom stayed at my house so we could drive ourselves to the airport instead of waking my Dad up super early on a Thursday.
We got up at 3:30 am, got ready and headed out the door!
We made it to the airport and found the best parking spot! I was so happy ! It was our first time driving ourselves to the airport
I avoided an overweight suitcase thanks to a home scale so.....phew!
Took some photos when we got there!

Oh I should mention that Jill came a few days later!
We were starving so we tried to rope drop our usual breakfast place...

But...it was supposed to open at 5 and it did not so we ended up eating cookies and licorice

You all are just so cute together! The picture of your heads on the grass at the Boardwalk is such a great idea that I'm going to do that on my next girl's trip! Sorry you weren't feeling too well with the heartburn but so glad you felt better by the afternoon. It is so nice to just slow down once in a while at WDW and relax versus always being on such a schedule! The Disney Mom hat on your sister is so adorable.

I've never had one, but I have to say they don't LOOK appetizing to me. I thought looks must be deceiving because everyone raves about them. They look like they would be really dry, and I don't like so many chocolate chips in my cookies...I'll of course try one on my next trip, but I will go in with more realistic expectations. Glad to know that I will be in good company if I don't love them.

I am glad to hear this too!!! I was like....everyone is going to hate me for this opinion !

Ok sorry guys. I was out of town for a minute then honestly just in a bum mood because we canceled our August trip and I was/am not feeling much Disney joy. The numbers are too high for my comfort level down there so....we shall see when we get back down there.
Anyway...back to the TR

May 27, 2021 Day 8
We got up around 7 am, got ready and headed out on the Boardwalk

We had reservations for breakfast at Cape May Cafe so took the air conditioned way

We were seated very quickly but the service otherwise was very slow.

We also got yogurt and fruit

I love all the little teapots

Since there are no buffets this is now family style. The platter is: Mickey and Minnie Waffles, Brioche French Toast, Cage-free Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Breakfast Sausage, Crispy Potato Barrels, and Beef Hash

You could also get certain omelets so Jill got a ham and cheese one.

Extra bacon of course.

Overall the food was very good but the service was just OK. They also just re-opened though so it was understandable. The only thing we really did not care for was the Beef Hash.
After breakfast we walked back to our room for a quick break then back over to Epcot.
It was already pretty crowded.

Test Track was not open yet when we got there so we waited a bit

At this point we were still skipping the design a car portion which sadly did not hold true on our July trip.

In the end we only waited about 35 minutes (including the time it was not even open yet). It was posted 65 minutes.

As always thanks for sharing a great report with magical pictures and stories! Been a while since I was on WDWMAGIC.... since we are not allowed to travel to USA I don't wanna punish myself too much while reading all the reports But someday we will be back!
