Trip Report **COMPLETED** A Boardwalk Babymoon

Hey guys! I have been back for awhile and to be honest I was not planning on writing a Trip Report because I have a lot going on right now. However, I was looking through all my pictures the other day feeling a little sad about not writing one. So...here we are! To be honest this was a long trip so this is probably going to take me forever to write (especially since I have a few trips coming up)

Ok...let's get down to it !

Who?
My Mom (Mary), my sister Jill and myself (Megan)
This is from our last trip together in Feb 2020

When?
May 20-30, 2021

Where?
Boardwalk Villas - staying on DVC points!

Why?
Jill and her husband Nick adopted a baby! If she is ok with it I will post a photo at some point of him. Funny enough we planned this trip before they got matched with a baby! They have been going through the adoption process for over a year and we thought it would give her a boost if we gifted her this trip! Literally like 2 weeks after we officially added her to the trip she got the call! It was perfect timing!! The baby was born just last week Also side note my Mom and I were supposed to be in Disneyland/on an Adventures by Disney tour this trip which is why it was so long

Day 1 - May 20, 2021
My Mom stayed at my house so we could drive ourselves to the airport instead of waking my Dad up super early on a Thursday.
We got up at 3:30 am, got ready and headed out the door!
We made it to the airport and found the best parking spot! I was so happy ! It was our first time driving ourselves to the airport
I avoided an overweight suitcase thanks to a home scale so.....phew!
Took some photos when we got there!

Oh I should mention that Jill came a few days later!
We were starving so we tried to rope drop our usual breakfast place...

But...it was supposed to open at 5 and it did not so we ended up eating cookies and licorice

More Peter Pan
We waited about 20 minutes!

We waited about 15 minutes.
We look....bored

We needed a snack after this so we headed towards Fantasyland.
It was....crowded

We got a Mickey pretzel and some churros.

And we saw Tink!

We stopped for some PPP after this

Day 6 continued
We headed to Tomorrowland/Buzz after this!

We waited about 25 minutes. We stopped for a minute so I quickly got galactic hero

It occurred to me to try and get Galactic Hero twice but I did not succeed

Then we crossed the park again

We saw Tink again.

Then we checked in for lunch at LTT. We were supposed to eat dinner here but Jill had a scheduled call with Ezra's birth Mom this evening so we moved it to lunch. It was Jill's first time at LTT so we were a little disappointed we were seated in the Diamond Horseshoe (but also excited to see it....).

Day 6 continued

A light for you...

Salad to start....

Rolls

Pot roast, pork, turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing

Mashed potatoes and green beans

Mac and cheese

We asked for more pot roast

And of course Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake (x 2....we got 2 and I felt like I had to document both).

Yum! Everything was so good! Jill enjoyed her first meal at LTT/Golden Horseshoe

Day 6 continued
Jill wanted to go on Jungle Cruise after this so we hopped in line

Wamba Wanda was our boat ! We waited about 40 minutes.

After the Jungle Cruise we headed to the Speedway

We only waited 10 minutes!

After this we headed back to the Boardwalk...

We had a pool break after this

After pool time we went to Abracadbar again (I took no photos since we had the same old same old) and my Mom and I headed to Epcot while Jill had her call.

Day 6 continued

We decided to wait for Test Track

We for some reason spaced ourselves

After this we headed back to World Showcase. I was happy to see the train back!

My main goal was to get Frushi since I haven't had it since 2018 and I love it so much !
Some photos as we made our way there...

SUCCESS!

It was just as good as I remembered !

After this we walked back towards the Boardwalk. We still had not heard from Jill so we were starting to get nervous. She planned on meeting us in Epcot but we had been there for awhile already. Anyway - she texted us just as we were on the Boardwalk to let us know the call had gone well (obviously...in hindsight ).
She wanted to grab a drink instead of going back to Epcot so we got some drinks from Joe's Margaritas. I have said it before but we have a weird obsession with Joe's despite never having been there.
I got a watermelon margarita and Jill got a Pina colada. The drinks were just ok and I would pay big time for having 2 drinks and little to no food the next day

May 26, 2021 WDW Day 7
We got up around 5:45 am, got ready, headed out the door and we were on the bus by 6:30 am (with a very angry bus driver).
AK was already open so we headed right to Flight of Passage
It was essentially a walk on

I was feeling super horrible this morning. I have heartburn quite a bit but the 2 margaritas the night before with no actual food killed my stomach. When I say I could barely function I could not walk more than a few steps without feeling immense pain. So after Flight of Passage Jill and my Mom went on Navi River Journey while I sat down and tried to control it.

I tried to drink some milk, take all my pills and eat a breakfast sandwich and legit nothing was touching it. I borderline thought maybe I had an ulcer and needed to go to the ER. I felt terrible but we ended up leaving. Jill and my Mom insisted they did not care. We slowly walked out and took an Uber home.
After a shower, some real food and some relaxation (well and work) I felt a lot better. My Mom and Jill headed to Disney Springs earlier so once I felt put together I hopped on a bus to Disney Springs.

We met up for lunch at Blaze. I have an unnatural obsession with Blaze - I eat it all the time at home

Then a quick photoshoot since I missed this opportunity at AK

The lego store was one of our primary targets.

Day 7 continued

And also the Christmas store

At some point we got on the virtual waitlist for Gideon's and we got the text that we could go in about an hour later.

I honestly had no idea what to expect - I just knew people thought the cookies were amazing.
It was SO cool inside!

We got a peanut butter crunch, chocolate chip and a pistachio toffee chocolate chip.
Honestly we were not blown away by the cookies...I hate to say it. They felt overall meh.
After our treats we headed back to the Boardwalk.

Back at the Boardwalk we finally left the quiet pool to go down the slide

I actually liked the new pool more than I would have thought!

Next up: back to DS

Day 7 continued
We headed back to Disney Springs after our pool time
When everyone is over taking selfies with you...

We had dinner reservations at The Boathouse so we headed there

We were seated outside so that we did not have to wait for forever for a table.
I was nervous because it was so hot out but there was a nice breeze.

My sister got the Duck Duck Razz. So cute!

Who doesn't love Blaze Pizza?! And the view from your table at the Boathouse was perfect! I really enjoy taking the boat from Port Orleans Riverside to Disney Springs for the scenery so it's neat to see the Disney Springs lagoon from a different perspective.

Day 7 continued

It was not super hot but there were a ton of bugs so they put this giant fan next to us and it was actually really nice

It was not loud and it worked to keep the bugs out !
For dinner my Mom got the pasta with vegetables and pesto

Jill got the lobster Mac and cheese

And I got a petite filet mignon

Yum! Everything was so good! We really enjoyed our meal!

After dinner we stopped at my favorite Disney Springs store before heading out

In the end this was not the day we had planned but it was actually very nice and relaxing ! We never take big breaks so we actually had a great time just going with the flow.
So much so that Jill started vacuuming for some reason
