Day 2 - Sunday Sept 15th
In my research before we came to movies, I was looking at possibly going off property for breakfast. I found a place called Holler & Dash, that specialized in breakfast biscuits. It had really good ratings.. apparently it's a small chain. I check to see how much a lyft would be... and it was around $10... so we figured $20 round trip plus around $25 for breakfast....was a little too steep.. (even compared to Disney prices) But then I looked to see if they were on Uber eats, and they were... it was still a little more than Disney, but it tasted a heck of a lot better than Disney breakfast at the values.... so we decided to go for it. This is where I'm a failure this trip.... I forgot to take pictures of a lot of our food.... booo hiss!
Here is a link to the
menu. I got Kickback Chicken Biscuit, and Scott got the Pork Rambler + egg. It came with a side, which we both got cheesy grits because.. YUM... and I ordered a side of fried green tomatoes to try. Everything was really tasty! The only thing I didn't like was the fried green tomatoes. They had a cornmeal coating that was just ok. I ate one, and tossed the other 2. Scott doesn't like tomatoes, so he wasn't going to help me out on those.
After breakfast we decided to swim........we went to the mighty ducks pool because less children.
I thought this was a fun touch... I had to explain to hubby that there was snow because this is replicating an ice hockey rink.... boys!
After pooling and a short nap, we went to Disney Springs for the afternoon.
1st stop for our afternoon snack... my favorite place in the world... Amorette's
Scott picked out a pumpkin creme brulee, and I picked out Amorette's rose. It's a chocolate mousse with a raspberry cognac center... and while I'm not a huge fan of raspberry... this was so good!
We went nextdoor and searched WoD for whatever our hearts desired... Scott like these, but sadly it was a no go, and we left empty handed.
We did go with a mission... we went to chapel hats to find me a sunhat... I only found a visor I liked... it's pretty cool, it's made out of swimsuit material for the pool. We also went to the lego store, disney style, and the coca cola store. I was on the hunt for orange bird antenna toppers since my last two had bit the dust since our last trip... however, I have sad news my friends.. Disney no longer sells Antenna toppers.
On our stroll we found two cool things:
A newly painted Orange Bird wall
And a cool manhole cover or maybe a compass marker?
