Does the buffet at Cape May still have buckets to load up on seafood? We went a long time ago (early 2000's) and I just remember filling up bucket after bucket with clams and crab legs.

We all count down the days of our vacation in one way or another. Hope was really great :inlove::inlove: I interacted more with Julia but A interacted more with Hope and Hope was really good with her when they were playing together. A doesn't quite have the sharing thing down yet, though, so sorry about that!!

It was really great to meet you guys in person! You have a really great crew :inlove::inlove:

Yeah - I think that's what she was doing. She did NOT like the Cantina - I think it was sensory overload for her, so I was happy she did ok. A was AMAZING with Hope and GREAT with sharing - especially since Hope had nothing to share with her! (Except Goldfish. 🤪) Sharing is still a tough concept for Hope - a work in progress. I hope we all get to meet again!!

It's normal for Austistic kids to count things right? Maybe she just needed something to count.

She is always counting - and she is exceptionally good with numbers in general, dates and calendars. So it could have been that too. In past years, when we said we were going home, she very cool with it, but this was the first year that she said, "I don't want to go home. I want to stay in Disney!"

They do put a bucket on your table, I saw some filling it up with legs, and other people like me, use it for the crab waste. I think they mostly want you to use the plates... but I could be wrong!

It was a bit of sensory overload for me as well. I'm very grateful we had a booth where we could kind of hide out from the din. If we were at a standing table I don't think we could have stayed as long, LOL. I thought about that on the way home about how I didn't walk around or take pictures inside the cantina, but it was so crowded and overwhelmingly loud that it wouldn't have been enjoyable. It's really too bad they didn't build it with a bit more space. And better acoustics.

And better drinks :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Scott said he wanted to go see if the fancy cotton candy maker in China was open this day (it was closed on Wednesday)

It was open, but I have to say this man did NOT look like he enjoyed his job very much.

I thanked him for his "art", which seem to please him and Scott was excited for this fun dryer lint.

Look at that smile!

That looks so cool!!! I really need to just sow down and walk around to see everything in the countries! We walked around China for a few minutes, but the only country we really take in is Japan - and that's because Julia (and now Hope who is following in her sister's Asian footsteps) doesn't give us a choice! lol

I know what you mean... we tend to fly thru them (except Japan) but the last time we were there I was having some overheating issues with some blood pressure medication. This time (on new meds!) I tried to make sure we looked at everything Scott wanted to look at so he couldn't say I didn't let him look at anything!

So sorry I missed the meet-up with you and @Darstarr! Sarah and I were both tired and she was feeling a bit apprehensive to meet someone I know from the internet :) She is very cautious and anxious as a result of her brain injury, so I try to be sensitive to it when it comes up. On the bus back to the resort she wondered if my "friends" would be mad a me for missing them. I assured her that they would understand because their families would also come first. Looks like you had a good chat!

Totally understandable, and no, we would never be mad!

OMG no never. I think one of the best thing about these meetups is that everyone understands their family and travel party comes first. When we met up at Oga's I could have stayed for a while longer, but A was melting so we had to go. Nobody would be mad at all. And nobody was!!

We could have made that meetup too but then we wouldn't have had any quiet time before the Halloween party and I really wanted to get at least a couple hours out of that hard ticket event.

I did miss meeting you but I totally understand! My friends/family are also a little apprehensive about the internet stranger meet up.

Yes, the buckets are still there!

I dined there last August, and as @Rista1313 said, some folks use them to discard carcasses. I also saw many using them to carry clams, mussels, shrimp and crab legs from the buffet to their tables.

Here's a picture of one of my (many!) plates and The Bucket. ;)
