My friend has seen the blueprints for the project called Rebirth Japan. Basically, it is the plans for the restaurant and maybe more. They are building a new building and connecting it with Japan, between there and Morocco. It will be a brand new state-of-the-art kitchen . and all of the old space will be used for seating in their new restaurant. All of the equipment, seating, tables, everything will be brand new.

Also, Japan has plenty of unused space in the back that can be used for something, right now it is used for storage. But there are plenty of possiblities!!

A restarurant? How interesting...

But that doesn't make a lot of sense considering that Morocco has Marrakesh and Japan has a couple bars/restarurants/grills.

Unless, of course, they are planning on removing those restarurants.

Japan and Morocco don't have a ride, could that be that building that will be connected.

What kind of restarurant (Japanese, Morrocan, Lithuanian) will it be?

Maybe I should clarify it, they are expanding the Japan Pavilion for more restaurant space and they are using the empty space between there and Morocco.

Nontheless, still interesting.

Looking from Live Search it looks like they can easily put in some space, and there already seems to be some temporary buildings there.

I'm hungry now...

I wish Japan would get a ride!

Japan actually had a planned ride to be sponsored by Kodak's arch-enemy FujiFilms. It was going to be centered around Mount Fuji and would be a roller coaster -cough- E-Ticket -cough-. However, Disney nixed the idea in fear of losing their Greatest Corproate Sponsor: Kodak Films.

well if it the project is called Rebirth:Japan im sure the plans call for more than just a new restaruant. Hopefully an attraction will be built.

More than that - Fuji Film offered to cover the total cost of R&D, construction AND upkeep of Mount Fuji. And then to think Eisner nearly blew it with Kodak after all that.

So Im guessing a new country then will never go between Japan and Morocco now that they are expanding Japan into that space?
(Not like a new country was ever going to happen anyway but just curious):lookaroun

I, personally, think they should make a decent Sushi Resteraunt. I mean, lets face it - alot of people have gotten into sushi & think of the creativity Disney could have when it comes to the Sushi Rolls.

Luckily I would think (or hope) that a sushi place would NOT be themed to Nemo.

So if an attraction is included in the "expansion" plans...is it still a coaster?

We were in Epcot a little over a week ago, and there was a wall between Japan and Morrocco. I was wondering what was going on. Maybe Merf can give us some info on the wall. It looked to me like all the trees at the front of the area were still there, but you couldn't see very far behind the wall.

Are you trying to get merf hooked on the Japan pavilion goings-on?
