Club Level?

I first heard the term last year when we were at the Poly. I've read the propaganda on the Disney site, and have some vague idea, but what exactly is "Club Level"? Are they physically located in different buildings or locations than the "normal" rooms? Are the rooms any different? What is included if you stay in Club Level?

some perks with club level

we've stayed at beach club, boardwalk, and contemporary club levels. i'd agree beach club was very small, but they were able to provide my wife (who has celiac sprue) a full gluten free breakfast each morning. every club ws able to provide food alternatives for her which was great for us. the staff at boardwalk and contemporary were awesome. they meet every need (ex. late night beers when dad was looking to unwind!!!). there are also certain tours that you can only do while being a club level guest. i would check into those as well. remember, you are at disneyworld. you can't go wrong. have fun!!

We also did the Sunrise Safari when we stayed club level at AKL. It easily ranks up there with the best our Disney experiences over the years.

I didn't like that we were on the 4th floor while the club lounge was on the 6th. That was a bit odd. I loved that the lounge was there for us to go sit around and relax. We did a lot of lounge visits while we were there because we were there with my in-laws. Rather than sitting around each others' rooms on the beds we'd sorta lounge about at a table upstairs. It was nice...like having an additional living space available.

As superficial and silly as it sounds, having that little air of VIP-ness was sorta cool. Having our little gold KttW cards that we had to use to go up to the 6th floor was neat. We got some looks a few times...hubby got a jovial comment from a lady in the elevator once, "Oooooh...VIP gold card...you must be in the cluuuuub..." It was all good fun.

The gold card is really cool, makes you feel elite status. :drevil: Pulling out the gold card for the parks entrance, to pay for dining, snacks, etc etc. The CM seem to give you a little more respect when they see your card :LOL

And yes the look when you walk in the elevator and slide that card to go to the restricted area :drevil:

I've done it twice. Not worth it. Rooms are the same. And, not to sound snobby or elitist, but as many have posted already, they give out the free upgrades a little too much. Did CL at Yacht and apparently they were renovating a large portion of the rooms so there was a lot of upgrades for people, especially those with four to five kids. Nothing like spending more than $100 a night extra to go to the "lounge" that looks more like a food court every time it was opened. Won't do it again because its too much of a gamble.

If it were just $100 per night more, I'd at least consider it at the monorail resorts. Not sure about Contemporary, but if you want a decent view at GF or the Poly, it's anywhere from $200 - $400 per night more. Disney is nuts.

We've always stayed at The Polynesian, and last year was the first time we stayed Club Level. We liked it so much that we are staying Club Level again this year!
We really enjoyed the separate check in. We were greeted outside of the GCH and taken by golf cart to the Hawaii (all club level) building. Check in was wonderful-done at a desk inside the Hawaii level.
We always spend 1 day just hanging out at the resort and going to the pool. It is so nice to go to the Lounge for a little breakfast and walking such a short distance to the pool! It's nothing to leave the pool and go to the lounge to get something to drink and go back out!
We really had stellar service from both the lounge staff and mousekeeping. The consierge staff was excellent with us too. We just had an outstanding experience! I had them make our ADRs last year and this year. Excellent benefit! We got them all at the times that I wanted. It saves me from having to get up at 5:00 a.m. on the 180 days to do it.
Have a great trip!

The late night lounge aspect is great! Dad and DH enjoyed a nightcap of Baileys (no limit!) after a long day at the parks while staying at the Poly CL.

Agree with the posts that state *if you take advantage of the food/drinks*, it is worth it. Had nice views of the Seven Seas Lagoon from Poly's 2 story club lounge. They had a kids area in the lounge with small chairs/sofas and tables and the Disney Channel on their own TV. The appetizers were varied and good. The lodge house that hosts the CL at Poly has great views when you book a MK view. In fact, we will probably not use the Disney Dining Plan this trip because we will utilize our food options in the CL then just pay out of pocket for the special dinners/breakfasts that we want.

We always try to come back from the parks midday to relax, so we were able to fully enjoy the club amentities (food/drinks). We haven't used the concierge booking services though (but will probably take advantage of it for next March trip to Poly CL)

At the Polynesian club level the rooms are the same size as the original constructed rooms but there are some amenities in the room that are not found in the standard rooms. Also you are in one building with secure access. This is also where the lounge is located. You have your own concierge and check in desk located in this building were everything can be taken care of and you can even check out DVDs for your room for free (other rooms don’t have DVD players).

Not all resort club levels are the same and infact the Wilderness lodge does not even have its own Itinerary Planning Office, they use the Polynesians. I have been told many times that the Polynesian’s club level was sort of the testing area for new amenities. It was the first club level in any Disney resort.

Here is more info about the Polynesian’s club level

We always stay Cl at Universal and enjoy it, but have yet to try it at Disney. We are normally at disney for 10 days. We rent a car and pick up our own snacks and alcoholic beverages. We have never stayed anywhere but the poly, and we always stay in Samoa which IMO is a better location then the Hawaii building. I go back and forth on it every trip and then talk myself out of it. We like eating at the signature restaurants at disney thats why I can't justify the extra 1200(thats with a 35-40% discount) for club level. If you really take advantage of the food, and drink offerings I think it could be worth it.
