Would you mind reposting a link to that, so I can take a look? Maybe my carousel idea could work in tangent.

Thanks brudda, I got some ideas for a mini land! But first, do we think it'd be overkill to a merry-go-round scene and then have a carousel / Dumbo crossover when the horses are the ride vehicles and then they fly upwards during "Let's Go Fly a Kite" or some other sort of climatic song from the movie?
Could be interesting! I'm curious what @kap91 thinks?

Have a lot of ideas that I've taken way too long thinking about :hilarious: I love to focus a lot of wording, and that's why I refrain from posting, as I'm afraid that if I don't use the right words, I won't paint the right picture. But since I really want to get back into a groove, I'm gonna just do bullets, and if you guys could just ask as many questions as possible if you like an idea or need me to clarify, that would mean the world!

  • Fantasia should be the castle, in my opinion, but the attraction inside would need to challenge the very term "attraction" as much as Fantasia challenged the term "animated feature." I'll elaborate if you guys like the idea.
  • @Brer Oswald You mentioned how you'd hate cutting Pooh from Fantasyland would be a sin, and I know that we as a group had no interest in doing so, but I think it could fit snug in an area around where @kap91 put Pinocchio and Beast. Call it our Forest area, where Pooh and Beast are the northern borders, Pinocchio is the western border, and Snow White is front and center.
  • I would love to have Mary Poppins be the theme of the carousel, or maybe not have a carousel... maybe have a new ride system? I have more ideas if you guys would be open for doing something like that! Would a solid C-Ticket do justice to the movie, and / or would having a traditional dark ride and a souped-up C-TIcket be overkill?
  • Does anyone have any interest in Frozen? I'm reluctant, as I have no nostalgia for it, but we could always have it be a simple flat ride, etc.
That's all I have right now, loving everything I'm seeing so far! :D
As far as I'm concerned this is the time to toss ideas out and get reactions. More ideas the better.

I agree! @kap91 lmk :)
I'm kind of neutral as long as the carousel isn't supposed to be the one from the movie as you pass by that on the ride. I do think sometimes simpler is better though.

I love the idea of the castle being based on Fantasia and having a ride (since there's already room for a ride in the plan! Maybe that could be the more thrilling one too. I don't think having a theater become a ride is feasible for anything other than slow moving attractions (I've been trying to figure out a way for years). But there's definitely a lot of potential for interesting multi-stage attractions like Star Wars is said to be.

I don't know if it's visible but there's already room in the plan towards the bottom left for a Pooh attraction directly across from Alice - which made the most sense to me as they basically take place in the same area and time period.

Hey all, I needed something to do this evening so I tried expanding upon they layout posted here earlier. The Train weaves above and below the land. Bridges are a trestle in the woods, London bridge in London, and an aqueduct near the village. The only issue with it is it doesn't really have a passage to a villains land - but it does leave a big plot of land next to the castle that I think would be perfect for a Fantasia outdoor/indoor ride with lots of rockwork and maybe the bald mountain could be part of that - would depend on the scale you're looking for. If there needed to be a passage to reach behind the land for say a train station and villains land I think a gap could open up between Pan and BatB. The courtyard is also designed with the idea that there might be a show building underneath it for an attraction. And the show buildings in the rear are partially cut off by the paper. Anyway here you are. Let me know what you thinkView attachment 193214 .
Love it! Very well integrated.

Finally Caught up! :D

I think it's a good start to see where things could be Brer!

I think the Pinocchio ride should be cut in half realistically....unless we're doing this ride on the scope of Pirates or Western River with a huge show building, I don't know what we can do with that much space.

What are the Sword and the Stone and the Robin Hood flat rides? I don't think I saw the ideas for those. :bookworm:

Some of the proportions are a little off for show buildings and spaces.... but I think this could be implemented well as a starting map :D we can kinda see how things transition.

I really think Peter Pan has serious potential for Fantasyland! It seems to have it's own Sub-land in the area, which is cool! :D I think Neverland could really Transition from your European Village area to Villains land with the Jolly Roger.

I think it'd be awesome to see this really developed well! And I think you'd be awesome to be in charge of that area if you're interested? I think artistically you could really shine with that. You're previous Neverland artwork was really cool! :D
I love Robin Hood! It was the first movie I ever saw and would fit very well in a Fantasyland Forest setting!

I had a thought that Sword in the Stone cool make a very cool mini land on its own. The day show of pulling the sword from the stone would up updated and made more realistic, a place to explorer Mwlin's tower and a recreation of Higitus Figitus, and even better, a show featuring the duel between Merlin and Madame Mim.

Also I had a vague idea for a Reluctant Dragon experience.

Hm -- do you have any more thoughts on this one? I'd be curious to hear!:bookworm:

While we're on dragons, did anyone ever think of a Pete's Dragon ride? Not that we have to -- I'm just wondering if it has ever crossed anyone's mind.
I've though of a Petes Dragon Broadway show....I think an invisible dragon is a great conceit for a stage show, many of the songs are perfect stage numbers, the Gorgans are the perfect stage comedy group, and there's plenty of opportunity for wow visuals (Elliot caught under the harpoon net with ropes and people flying about, Pete riding Elliot, storms and rain). In many ways the original movie is really written for the stage. Probably why it found little success as a movie - that kind of over-the-top acting and storytelling never pleases most movie audiences (I happen to love it)

Sadly, I don't think enough people appreciate the original for it to be feasible.

Yeah, sadly I agree too -- I can't see it appealing to the masses in a way that would warrant an attraction. Would be fun though!

The Reluctant Dragon idea would be a cave like area where guests can come in at any point and get like drinks and snacks (think the Horseshoe Saloon, while the dragon recounts stories (with the help of the castmembers) and recite poetry (he can't see to think of a word that rhymes with banana ;)). Every hour or so, Sir Giles comes calling and wants to fight the dragon. At the end of the day, the place closes down with the dragon breathing "flames" and smoke and cast members urge the guests to leave so the dragon can calm down (think Adventurers Club right before midnight).

I dig it!

@kap91 Is the layout set it stone? The only conflict I have is that I don't see a smooth visual transition from Alice to Pooh... it's architecture I feel would work best in a forest area. If the layout is going to stay put, I won't fuss, but maybe a slight configuration could appeal a little more visually.

@FigmentPigments Love that idea! Would it be practically to find the Ye 'Olde Inn underneath the castle? I suppose that goes instead the whole dungeon theme, but it would let to more being able to be pulled from the short.

Oh it definitely can! :) I just said a cave because I didn't know where it would go based on what we have so far and rockwork seemed to be the only safe bet. This idea is totally fluid!

I don't think anything is set in stone right now. I imagine pooh is a continued forest across and down from Alice, and Alice is more of a mansion and lawn that emerges from the forest.

Exactly!

So, I was thinking this: Mickey and Donald host a show held in a domed theater, with dense projections, creating 3D without the glasses. Picture the Pines of Rome from 2000, being marveled at by the first ever Mickey and Donald animatronic. Fill it the plot blanks, and then the ride system converts into a flume ride or something and such. No matter what, I want the show to transition into a ride. I'll cry until the Blue Sky turns grey to figure something out! The climax would be Sorcerer's Apprentice, and maybe the ride system could realign itself.

Thoughts?
You mean the second Mickey and Donald Animatronics...after the Mickey Mouse revue ones.:p
