I just realized, Equator means our seasons are reversed and the newest challenge: to make a Christmas event work in summer and a winter event that isn't Christmassy.

Outside of avoiding a something too similar to the Hot Mess© that was Winter Dreams that could work well. The major problem for me now is Winter without making it too Christmassy. If Olaf is hosting Christmas, then that leaves Frozen out for a theme and a whole host of idealets that might not come out to a positive whole theme for the major event of the season.
Ice and snow is a bit too obvious and without the Frozen girls as hosts it seems like a lost opportunity. That said, the Nutcracker Fairies had ice powers so there's another host idea, if a tad unknown and there's the idea of some really cool decorations with them coating the park in frost and snow.
With the Fantasia tilt, there's an idea with the Whale Migration and Pines of Rome but that seems better for something along the lines of a short event for a couple weeks than a huge seasonal event.

I just realized Fall and Halloween might have some issues as well. Less I ditch the idea of Fall for an entirely different theme.

I agree! I feel like Frozen makes much more sense for Australian summer than Olaf does in the winter, since Arendale gets frozen in the summer in the movie....

Maybe a spokesperson for the winter event would probably be stitch? Family focused with the Ohana theme... and surfing.... lots of surfing.

Hong Kong did a... unique Stitch event a while back.

There's something in there for a somewhat interesting hub show similar to MiSiCi
Maybe something along the lines of the old Midsummer's Night Panic at Tokyo Disneyland for a stage show.

Maybe some Moana in the entertainment. A fun parade would cinch the event into a whole.

Excuse my rambles, I'm just trying to see what sticks here.
For January - March I'm thinking smaller scale events, lasting a couple weeks at most. New Years, Valentines, and other stuff like that.
With the park being so steeped in Fantasia, we'd be remiss to not have a massive music based event sometime in the year.
Halloween, with our Villains land, is somewhat obvious. Villains escape, run amuck in the park.
Christmas, I don't want to lean too heavily on Frozen but I think the sisters and Olaf would be nice hosts for the time. That said, Mickey and Co and Santa might be better options with Anna and Elsa taking over Fantasyland and Hans taking over Villains Land for the season. If we really want to move away from the mice and Santa, I'd rather have Belle host than the Arendelle girls and their pet snowman. She's got the special dress that can be pimped out with glitter and sparkles and still look classy, she's got the song, and there's the makings of an idea in my head for a Christmas Tree and Castle lighting show.
