MonorailRed

Applebees
This is certainly an idea. I can see it building off of Alice's "Painting the Roses @MonorailRed" sequence, having to paint the whole of Wonderland your chosen color. Use a tech sort of like Goofy's House in Tokyo, which uses paint guns and screens. A competetive component (especially if riders sit back-to-back like in Toy Story Mania) would be to do something like Splatoon, see whose color can cover the most surface area.

(I'd considered something like this for Mystic Gallery in the One Sentence Competition, but we weren't allowed to play with our own lands.)

The still-unnamed Chinatown dark ride I'd conceived for Pacific Wharf, the one we've set aside for @FigmentPigments' Museum of the Weird, it would have been a shooter ride in the vein of Buzz Lightyear. Shooting darts to tranquilize escaped AA beasties from Chinese folklore. I agree on the park needing an interactive shooter type ride - guests really seem to dig these things.

Yeah, I think guests enjoy it too!

Any ideas on how to include it in the alice ride? :D Should we still have a chessboard and other scenes discussed? o_O Or go with a full out painting ride in Wonderland from the movie?

Just throwing in some random ideas. What about a Vulcanus Pizza Restaurant, uhh sugar plum fairy sweets shop, i remember something with fishes uhh perhaps an asian restaurant for that(?) and a Versailles like palace with detailled Fantasia Murals(like the Beauty and the Beast murals) as a table service

I like the re-name of the sweet shop and Vulcanus!

I think we should have definitely have a Kiosk for asian food! From my research Thai food and some other asian cuisine is popular in Australia.... That'd totally work! - Or o_O Would Chinese work anywhere in Adventureland? I know we have a ton of restaurants already in Fantasia....

Versailles would be aweome as the In-Castle Restaurant... That could work really well! :D

You've done it again, Monorail! Great list of menus up there!

I like Vulcanus...except for those last 4 letters in the name. Maybe Vulcan's instead?

Regarding Chinese food...Pacific Wharf has Chinatown, with a big dim sum restaurant (whose name I forget, though I created it). If we want more, Fantasia has those dancing Chinese mushrooms in Nutcracker. For Adventureland...Chinese pirates associated with POTC, I dunno.

And for Alice, you're right, I think it's either chessboard OR interactive painting ride. If it's the former, what else could be an interactive shooter? Something in Villains Land, maybe?

I really like this idea. Is there any chance we can move that into the castle as a plated meal? I feel like two character meals that close together is kind of iffy

Vulcan's works!

Ah I forgot Chinatown covered that! So I think we have that of the list @orlando687!

And for Alice, you're right, I think it's either chessboard OR interactive painting ride. If it's the former, what else could be an interactive shooter? Something in Villains Land, maybe?

Hmm....Let me get a picture of the map.... May help get some ideas...

Random Thoughts for shooter attractions from the map... lets see if any stick....

Fantasia shooter attraction where you help Mickey cast spells on different scenes in Fantasia similar to Toy Story.

Elephant Graveyard attraction shooting style ride o_O somehow

Park Railroad being an option shooter ride... giving guests something to do while on the train...

I'd mention Big Hero but that's @FigmentPigments territory :D

That's all I got :hilarious:

Ah I forgot Chinatown covered that! So I think we have that of the list @orlando687!

We'll tag @Hunter Parks over here so he can see the Sydney Disneyland progress - since he's interested in an Australian Disney park:)

Hey everyone!

So, since talking to an.... Important Imagineer at work...... There's been this imagineering tactic spoke about that hasn't gotten out of my head.... I think it could be incredibly useful to our Resort.

He says doesn't start with the story or the details.... Start with the Meaning of what you're doing....

What does Sydney Disneyland mean?

For Animal Kingdom he says it's these 3 bullet points.

Then you theme everything around those points. Every Trashcan, Every plant, every bathroom, every restaurant, every attraction. All of them tie into the greater purpose of the Project.

Thoughts?

Megan for Figment again. Okay figment has given this a lot of thought and i'm actually going to write word for word what she wrote.

Figment: One of the big starting points for this project was redoing old Fantasyland to make it more flowing and to be more immersive. This project has since grown beyond scope and scale and is getting bigger everyday. Each person has their own ideas of how the park should look and feel, and that is how it should be. There is no one real park that is right or wrong. But one thing I think most of us agree on is the immersive aspect of this park. The ability for guest to step into any part of this park and feel like they stepped into a different world or into another story.

I once read an article that said the human brain has a strong desire to find patterns; so strong in fact that the brain will "see" patterns even if none are there. The same article went on to say that people watched a short film of shaped just passing through each other, and at the end of the film people gave characteristics to these shapes like gender, emotions, and even simple stories like the triangles were attacking the circle. Does this sound familiar? Fantasia is founded on this principle. That movie put shapes to music, and the audience in turn began to associate feelings to the shapes. As Fantasia seems to be the heart of our park with each land branching off based on a different theme found in Fantasia, it seems only reasonable to think that this is what we want our park to stand for. But we can do a little better still.

Immersion done correctly blurs the line between what is real and what is fiction. Any good movie, book, or piece of music can accomplish this, and people flock to the truly great ones. People want to be immersed whether its a movie, a play, or a song. They want to get involved, create their own roles in the stories, to make it theirs. Animal Kingdom does this in spades. I can walk into Asia and feel like I'm there, and I can be anything I want to. That land offers a wide experience for me to participate in and how I can do so. That is what this park means to me: a place where people can be immersed in another world, create their own identity; a place that is as "real" as it can be and people can write their own stories.

I don't have a one word answer I can give for Red's question, and I'm sorry it was a little long winded, but I hope this is what we can accomplish with this park.
