I'll tag some people who responded to the question yesterday about the park entrance and others who've been following along so they don't have to fish for the answers. Hopefully this summarizes it well to catch up but if you have any questions/thoughts/concerns please feel free to comment!

Looks fine.

Real basic ideas for a Philharmagic Parade

Version 1 (by theme)

  1. Music Everywhere
  2. Sailing Away
  3. A Pirate’s Life
  4. South American Rhythms
  5. “Animazement Trio” Float
  6. Villains
  7. Musical Ball
  8. Sorcerer’s Mountain

Version 2 (by movie)
  1. Fantasia
  2. Beauty and the Beast
  3. The Little Mermaid
  4. The Lion King
  5. Hercules
  6. Frozen
  7. Peter Pan
  8. Aladdin
  9. Cinderella
  10. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
  11. Sleeping Beauty
  12. Pinocchio
  13. Moana
  14. Finale
One is obviously longer but the shorter one could have larger character variety, while the longer one could have more interesting float design and would follow the Philharmagic 'best of' format more closely.
Maybe sailing away could be changed to Polynesian so we can add Lilo and Stitch. Also smt like Jungle Rhythm with the three jungle movies ( Lion King, Tarzan and Jungle Book)

I'd much rather get everyone's opinion on which way to go for the parade before going into edits.
I know its just a rough draft, but do you know what the musical score would be to the parade? Would it be something unique for the parade or include songs from each film as the float goes past?

Hey everyone!

So, since talking to an.... Important Imagineer at work...... There's been this imagineering tactic spoke about that hasn't gotten out of my head.... I think it could be incredibly useful to our Resort.

He says doesn't start with the story or the details.... Start with the Meaning of what you're doing....

What does Sydney Disneyland mean?

For Animal Kingdom he says it's these 3 bullet points.

Then you theme everything around those points. Every Trashcan, Every plant, every bathroom, every restaurant, every attraction. All of them tie into the greater purpose of the Project.

Thoughts?

So I just wanted to bring the conversation back here for a second -- @D Hindley was brainstorming a lot of great ideas for the Fantasia Gardens entrance -- and with that in mind I wanted to turn some attention to other Table Service, Quick Service, and Shops throughout the park

Here's a list of what we have so far -- and if any of the new or old contributors to this have any suggestions please feel free to add them in!

I think that's incredibly useful. In ad campaigns we start with a concept and go from there.

What are our meanings behind Sydney Disneyland? Friendship? Objectivity? Adventure? What are our meanings?

Also, I know I'm new to the discussion but is there a particular reason we have so many Fantasia themed components?

We've never really been over it.... but.. If I had to say "Why Fantasia?" I'd mainly go with it's a really excellent theme for where it is.

Main Street/Hub Area is an Introduction land to the park from outside the gates .... But also a Transition land to the other lands in the Disneyland Park.

  • Fantasia is known for bringing something realistic to pure fantasy - It screams Intro Immersion.

  • It also easily transitions into other lands without giving them away... it's a "teaser" in a sense....

The Castle? That's a clear intro to Fantasyland... But something like the building architecture of rhapsody in blue I think could easily be an intro to the city scares of Pacific Wharf (Then again, I may be totally wrong on that since @D Hindley 's the manager of that area:hilarious: ) ... Maybe even Pines of Rome (Because of Pacific Whales possiblyo_O) Adventureland and Frontierland can easily be transitioned by Rite of Spring...

hqdefault.jpg

  • It's New, but Familiar to tourists.
I think it works with the Naturalistic look traveling New Zealander's seem to be looking for, but also the familiarity of Fantasia for Chinese Tourists, and Something totally different for the Japanese and Americans. It gives Australia Disneyland it's own identity... and I think that's special.

Most important of all.... This key tradition point sets the mood for the entire Resort.... Think about it think way...

  • Guests first intro to the Resort is a "Sydney Springs" type retro shopping and entertainment area...
  • Then they head to the "Concert Hall" entrance to the Castle Park....
  • From the Concert hall they get swept away in music taken them to several land's of Fantasy.

That's all I got on the fantasia note :hilarious:

For Tomorrowland I think we can implement more unique shops and areas to tie in with Century 22 and Space Mountain. A Space themed restaurant would be interesting, like a port in space looking out into outer space with changing screens of space images as you eat.

I could see that!

And yeah aside from the Timber Peak Saloon, Hinterlands, and Pacific Wharf areas -- nothing is set in stone and nothing has been written up (aside from those listed)

So it can change on a whim! That's also why I just labeled them TS, QS, and S on the map because they could change!

Maybe add the Jolly Roger/Chicken of the Sea to that list for Fantasyland.
