Whoa, okay!

I'd started replying to space's first response, and suddenly a whole conversation has appeared continuing the Fantasia thoughts. I'll just stand back and enjoy the group brainstorming occurring right now. All I'll say is -

AA Deems Taylor hosting a show.

A shop or restaurant called Stokowski's to compliment space's idea of Taylor's. The conductor needs love...the train!!! Stokowski Station! Ah, bad puns.

I think it'd be cool to change it from "Villains land" to a catchy-er title.

The Dark Forest? Valley of Arcane? Chernobog's Valley? o_O
We did want a bit of humor in most of the land right (aside from Bald Mountain which is on the opposite side of the railroad station and the berm.

So if we make the title too "dark" it might misrepresent funny stuff like Villains Academy or Kronk's Spinach Puff stand:p

Oh very nice touch with the Stokowski shop!

I love the subtle references like that -- it would also be interesting to follow the 'names on windows' tradition and have the philly orchestra member names on both the Taylor's and Stokoski building windows.

Preliminary idea for a Philharmagic Parade:
Eleven seems like a good float number with Fantasia being either the opening or closing float.
The rest of the parade could be a classier version of Soundsational. A SpectroMagic to Soundsational's Electrical Parade of sorts.
A massive celebration of Disney music on the street.
Nice! I might have posted this a while ago but I still remember @Fox&Hound made such an amazing PhilharMagic redo back in the House Cup -- maybe he could help with some of these ideas!

Mickey’s PhilharMagic: Re-Imagined

-GR-ers_S2CpLtAqRwy2Y6XbcONuiekfp35XEmbk7WLSesDMeJRGNrJTlAmdRDXGR5tdwvh_VLMzVkMaF4aCVRen3C22rMIPJV2IZL1jNoAVmfNuPzRakZM4pWnVQdgu2hXiMj7O

Introduction:

Opening on October 8th, 2003 and replacing the “Legend of the Lion King”, “Mickey’s Philharmagic” has delighted fans for years. Young and old alike have loved watching Donald Duck chase after the elusive sorcerer’s hat, only to have Mickey save the day yet again. This new take on an old classic will borrow the randomized sequence of Star Tours and allow guests to go down several paths of the show, while keeping the beginning and end segments the same. The show will continue to be shown in 4-D and will still bring joy to guests as they feel, smell, see, and almost touch the life-like scenes. (No matter which path guests find themselves down, scenes have been carefully selected and effects have been timed so that, for example, a water effect will activate at the same mark, no matter which water scene you find yourself in).

By randomizing scenes, not only does a favorite attraction get a healthy update, but more beloved characters can be seen in the Magic Kingdom. And with Disney churning out more hits every year, scenes can continue to be updated for years to come.

Duration: 12 minutes

Show begins as normal:
  • Concert preparations begin
  • Donald is told by Mickey “Don’t touch my hat!”
  • Donald grabs hat and tried to conduct orchestra, mocks small flute, whirlwind ensues, and Donald loses the hat as he is whisked away.

Same scene as before. Scene ends with water effect (transitions to next scene).

*****This begins the randomized sequencing. Guests may travel to any one scene in part 3, part 4, part 5, and part 6. Transitions will be created so any scene can follow a previous scene. All scenes in part 6 end with Donald returning to the whirlwind that brought him and Mickey's hat on this journey to begin.

To recap the question posted at the start of the day regarding the entrance to the park -- it seems like we comes to a consensus which should make most people happy! It's a hybrid of options 2 and 3 -- with a bit of option 1 thrown in.

----------
Also if people are just tuning in and missed that discussion - here were the options:

Option 1 was a turn of the century Sydney Entrance, with Fantasia Gardens as the hub
Option 2 was an Oasis (at DAK) exploratory style entrance with Fantasia Gardens as the theme.
Option 3 was a traditional 'Main Street' but themed to Fantasia
Option 4 was a double decker Main Street - shops on the bottom floor, Fantasia Gardens on top.

The combination of Option 2 and 3 has led to this illustration by @D Hindley - giving a rough idea of how it would look. You'd still have the traditional Main Street, but there would be other side streets to help traffic flow especially during parades/fireworks.
img_2371-jpg.202588

All of these paths would lead to this Castle designed by @MonorailRed

fantasiafinal1-jpg.202614

How Option 1 fits in is the turn of the century Sydney town will be the "entrance" to the park on the outside of the park gates. Similar to Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Shanghai Disneyland, etc -- there will be a shopping center (Sydney Springs) right on the outside of the park gates, that will transition into the actual park!

I'll tag some people who responded to the question yesterday about the park entrance and others who've been following along so they don't have to fish for the answers. Hopefully this summarizes it well to catch up but if you have any questions/thoughts/concerns please feel free to comment!
