I looked up the old Skyway and it had 42 cars that could fit 4 people and went 4mph.

I also found a proposed gondola track for Branson that looked like it could be go around obstacles.

Does this address any of your concerns?

The original skyway had like 30-40 minute waits back in the 90s. These days it'd probably be worse. It had a similar load time and capacity to the classic dark rides. Compare that to wedway.

In the diagram above the route is only changing direction at each station. It's possible for gondolas to change direction but only at locations like that (if you remembers the old skyway it had a direction change near the speedway).

Loving all the great ideas that have been shared today! Was a bit of a task to catch up on it all, but I did it.

The direction of the new Fantasyland is great. Have we decided on a specific mini land that we want to focus on? The European area that was suggested further back would be a great place to house the stage show that I would be designing. The Fantasy Faire style buildings of the theater would fit perfectly into that.

Are we wanting this to go through all of the attractions?

Aesthetically I don't think it fits, especially if the rest of the land is trending towards the modern ultra realism/fully rendered look, and the capacity would be a major problem with individual cars.

There might be something there, just needs a lot of development to make it feasible, fitting, and attractive. I will say a Casey Jr train would easily bypass all these problems. I'd actually lean towards making the peoplemover an original contraption not based on any IP, instead a mythology of Fantasyland itself (certainly could serve to bind it all together)- but that would require we have a firmer idea on the land as a whole.
Just a spitball idea -- but since we seem to eventually be including Peter Pan -- could it be "pixie dust" powered? And themed to flying to Neverland -- as a substitute for a Peter Pan attraction which has been done similarly in mostly every incarnation.

I know, but I thought if there was such a dislike of the an aerial peoplemover, that maybe we could have the people mover be something that blends in with the whole of Fantasyland, that was all. An IP based ground PM just seems like it would create a disconnect with certain parts of the land. Again, just my opinion.
Yeah -- with how diverse the lineup seems to be shaping up-- having a specific IP running through the streets so to speak would be jarring unless it's a generic theme that fits with all of the mini-lands.

With aerial I'd definitely vote for it being suspended -- the less gaudy the track the better.

I'm okay with that. I'm not a big proponent of a peoplemover anyway, but a lot of people liked the idea.

Hey! Glad you're caught up -- I can do another recap tonight if it helps!:)

^ This is the first full concept we've approved and started work on if you want to join in that group -- or stick around here to help continue to flesh out the land!

A recap would be great! Not just for me but everyone else that hasn't had a chance to read up on the latest plans.

I will stick my head in over in the Beauty and the Beast thread too!

And we have the 2nd "approved" area -- which actually will most likely be adjacent to Fantasyland and not within it, but nevertheless, the Villains Mini-Land thread is up!

And I will do that recap tonight before heading out:D

That's fine.

I forgot you were doing the Peter Pan ride.
I'm sorry Space. Nearly every single one of your ideas is amazing, but not this. Fantasyland without a Peter Pan dark ride is like Disney without Mickey Mouse. My whole idea for this project started as a simple reimagining of the Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh rides. I can cut Pooh because it can be moved to Critter Country, but I can't cut Peter. I'm really sorry for sounding so harsh. :(

Haha it's all good Brer no worries!

This whole idea really started with you so I'm definitely going to bend to your suggestions! We wouldn't have this without you!
