If we're planning on doing classic small scale dark rides then I'm less concerned about flat rides throughout the land. Just that if we're going to do them there need to be several to spread crowds around because of their low capacity and have a visual way of communicating they're small scale rides and not big ones.

Lol I really love the idea of people in line looking at the restaurant below and basically the entire thing is based on that idea. And also that the magic mirror effect is too good to waste on a crappy show
Completely agree. I love when things interconnect. Village Haus with small world, Blue Bayou with Pirates, San Angel Inn and El Rio del Tiempo ...its really neat!

Classic style dark rides could be a good substitute...maybe a mix of both smaller scale dark rides and flat rides to even out the tickets throughout the land.

Anyone ever think about a double carousel? Or even double decker carousel?

Lastly while im thinking of small inclusions...for this hypothetical park, would we want a Fantasyland Station like in Disneyland or skip it for now?

I think it's important for the train to function as a transportation to make the park easily accessible. So whether or not there's a station largely would depend on the layout of the park. But assuming the layout is like most castle parks I'd lean towards yes. I've always hated the positioning of the 3rd train station at WDW as it's just in an awful location that makes both Fantasyland and Tomorrowland a long walk away.

I agree it's a stop at most northeast part of the park with no main attractions close by.

For the people who were interested in writing Beauty and the Beast (kap @OvertheHorizon and @kmbmw777 iirc) I can set up a separate brainstorming thread to consolidate all of the BatB brainstorming over there...that way you won't have your content scattered all over the place here. And anyone interested can chime in with their Beauty and the Beast specific comments over there!

And for more large scale pieces of the land, once we settle on them, we can do the same.

This thread and continue to be a "catch-all" in the sense of we can brainstorm the overall scope of the land and continue to flesh it out together as a group.

Thoughts on that?

I know people don't want a ton of E tickets, so I think it's time to reconsider what e tickets are. Times have greatly evolved. The flat cardboard cutout rides of the past just aren't as impressive anymore. I'd go to the length to classify them as B. For that reason, I think all of the rides should have actual animatronics. However, the classification of the ticket value (which I personally think should be dropped entirely) should be based on ride system, size, and ride length.

I'm thinking Pooh should go into Critter Country at this point. It's close enough to FL, and the land could act as the transition between Frontierland and Fantasyland, with the animated characters of Pooh and Brer Rabbit connecting to fantasy, but with the forests and mountain range of splash connecting to the western backwoods of frontier land.

The ticket system is just easy shorthand. We'll want some smaller scale, shorter rides. Whatever you want to call them.

Fair point. I find it easy to call something an E ticket, but much harder to call it a C or D.
The ticket system has changed so much over the years -- though Imagineers still use it in a way to weight out D vs E (Mermaid vs Everest) for example.

Everyone has their own opinions though on what constitutes C/D/E -- but I think we're only using them to say that we should have a diversity of attractions in the land:bookworm:

Yes there's been way too many a thread debating the definitions.

In my opinion, Alice should be trackless and elaborate while not necessarily long. Pinocchio would be long, but not too technically complicated. Peter Pan would be short and would feature an updated ride system, while the overall ride would have more dazzling effects. Batb, would have a simple ride system, but amazing effects. Mr. Toad would be a coaster akin to mine train. Tangled, Mermaid, Snow White, and whatever else could be the short and simple dark rides. Robin Hood, Cinderella, sword in the stone, and more could be the flat rides. Dumbo would be the transportation/people mover attraction. Finally, if we still wanted more flat rides, we could do something with Fantasia, or maybe mermaid could instead have an Under the Sea style flat ride.
