I know im dating myself here but does anybody else remember Circus world(later turned to Boardwalk and Baseball) in Davenport?I used to make yearly trips with my Grandparents to WDW(when it was only Magic Kingdom) and always spent the day at Circus World. It was no way anything like WDW but it was still fun.If you got your face painted like a clown there after you left you could get a free Sundae at Mc Donalds across the street.

It was Boardwalk and Baseball when I made my first and only visit there. All I remember is that it was very quiet so all rides were walk-on. I don't think it lasted much longer after that.

Yeah, I remember Circus World. Great wooden coaster, the rest, meh. Just to give you an idea of what type of park it was, I once went there with friends and after getting inside, we realized we didn't have film for my camera. (This was in the days before disposable cameras) I went to the gift shop and asked about film, and the girl working there said, "Yeah, I have film, but it would be a lot cheaper for you to get your hand stamped and go to the Circle K across the street and buy it there."

As a teen, I liked the coasters there, but they didn't hold a candle to what you can get these days at Universal and at WDW.

barnum42 remembers correctly that when the circus didn't do so well an attempt was made to combine it with the Kansas City Royals' spring training and it became "Boardwalk and Baseball." When that failed, I believe the whole thing was dismantled and sold off in pieces.

For some reason my biggest memory of the park was the way the clown makeup room smelled.I still have the smell in my mind after all theses years.

I can remember it always appeared empty; but my sister's CYO group always went there (this was when a week needed to be filled and there was only Magic Kingdom and Epcot). I'd check it out as I was driving to Busch Gardens! Those were the days when we had a couple of days to do other things because 4 days at Walt Disney World was plenty. Thanks for the memory :)

I remember the place, going in the mid 70's. All there was at WDW was MK, so this was a viable alternative. They had a great wooden coaster and the novelty of going on a coaster that put you through a loop was unheard of.

I remember Circus World from the 70s on. I visited once while they were cramming all of the fair-type rides into it -- just before it closed to become Boardwalk and Baseball, I think.

My most vivid memory of it was watching the IMAX movie of riding the roller coaster and being surprised at how much of a sense of motion you got just from sitting there.

Before my parents got divorced, we would goto WDW every year or so. And, while there visit Circus World. I remember a little about it, but do have some old pics from it somewhere around here.
I also remember Boardwalk and Baseball. I remember B and B was pretty empty, and they had the thing where you could throw a baseball under the radar, and batting cages. I also remember seeing the Baseball City Royals minor league team there.

Wow, I am really getting old!
